To be honest, I have never been to either place, but many have and will relate to this book.
We meet Matt, a University Rugby player and Kieran, childhood friends, but where Matt is an alpha male jock, Kieran is a gay dancer with a secret crush on his best friend.
I love how CF White writes; you feel immersed in the characters and story. This is true of each of her books. Here, we feel for Kieran as he has had a crush for years, and life is passing him by when he should be out there living it. I love the complex families behind Matt and Kieran, each has been thought about, and there is a twist that I was not expecting but loved when it arrived. Great backgrounds on the characters.
Well done, you have another brilliant book under your name. I would highly recommend you read this book. Massive amount of trust issues, family arguments, ruined weddings, lost family and obviously love and a happy ever after, what more do we need.
That was where my review ended when I read the book. Now having listened to the book narrated by Piers Ryman, wow, he brought it to life. You felt like you were in Spain amongst one of the most dysfunctional families. There were sections where I wanted to hug Kieran and tell him it would be alright, and then I also wanted to slap him for not speaking up. Excellent audio, highly recommend.
