Summary

Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker must stem the tide of the raging Clone Wars and forge a new bond as Jedi Knights.
The Clone Wars have begun. Battle lines are being drawn throughout the galaxy. With every world that joins the Separatists, the peace guarded by the Jedi Order is slipping through their fingers.
After an explosion devastates Cato Neimoidia, the jewel of the Trade Federation, the Republic is blamed and the fragile neutrality of the planet is threatened. The Jedi dispatch Obi-Wan Kenobi, one of the Order's most gifted diplomatic minds, to investigate the crime and maintain the balance that has begun to dangerously shift. As Obi-Wan investigates with the help of a heroic Neimoidian guard, he finds himself working against the Separatists who hope to draw the planet into their conspiracy-and senses the sinister hand of Asajj Ventress in the mists that cloak the planet.
Amid the brewing chaos, Anakin Skywalker rises to the rank of Jedi Knight. Despite the mandate that Obi-Wan travel alone—and his former master's insistence that he listen this time—Anakin's headstrong determination means nothing can stop him from crashing the party and bringing along a promising but conflicted youngling.
Once a Padawan to Obi-Wan, Anakin now finds himself on equal—but uncertain—footing with the man who raised him. The lingering friction between them increases the danger for everyone around them. The two knights must learn a new way to work together—and they must learn quickly, to save Cato Neimoidia and its people from the fires of war. To overcome the threat they face they must grow beyond master and apprentice. They must stand together as brothers.

The Force is strong with this one
An absolutely wonderful novel which tells a gripping original story extending the narrative of the Prequel Trilogy and focusing on 'that business on Cato Neimoidia'.
Mike Chen does a fantastic job in describing the locations and expanding on character motivations. Each chapter kept me on the edge of my seat and wanting more. It was touching to see Obi-Wan and Anakin's relationship grow in Canon once more, and gives us Anakin's heartwarming connections to Younglings.
I didn't expect to see certain characters to appear and Easter Eggs from other Star Wars content across multiple media which was 'a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one'.
Jonathan Davis does a great job in narrating the novel, with each character being clearly distinguished despite just hearing one voice the entire time. And in times of tension, drama, etc Davis delivers it well. In summary, the audiobook keeps me immersed in the world presented in the novel, which helped with the inclusion of sound effects and score from John Williams.
As a Star Wars fan of 20+ years, Mike Chen has my full gratitude and respect for writing such an exciting and moving piece of Canon content based on my favourite Trilogy and characters, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. This is perfect material to read especially for those who enjoy the Prequel Trilogy and its connected series like The Clone Wars, and also acts as a great novel to read in preparation for the upcoming Disney+ Series 'Obi-Wan Kenobi'
10/10 would read again. The Force is strong with this one.

Nostalgic Fun, with a Thoughtful Twist
Obi-Wan and Anakin’s relationship is one of the most important in the franchise. Brotherhood shines a light on the troubles the dynamic duo of the prequel trilogy faced after Geonosis, but also the moment when things changed and they became the good-natured friends with witty banter that fans of The Clone Wars will fondly remember.
Meanwhile, Mike Chen presents a thoughtful look at race in Star Wars through the lens of the grieving Neimoidian people. Star Wars rarely takes the time to portray its aliens as a complete people, leaving the audience with stereotypes only while the adventure continues. It is encouraging to see a story where this is acknowledged.
Themes of dissatisfaction, disenfranchisement, and radicalisation make this Star Wars story relevant to the modern reader. It is worth your time. With only a small cast of characters original to the book itself the plot and character arcs are simple to follow and satisfying to listen to.
Veteran voice talent Jonathan Davis delivers an engaging performance. While not as lively and varied perhaps as his past work on the Darth Bane Trilogy for instance, his cadence is smooth, clear, and has enough added flair to distinguish each key character.

Brotherhood
Gives an interesting and exciting take on the period after Anakin becomes a Jedi Knight.
Obi wan is of playing negotiator, meanwhile Sideous is stoking both the fires of War, Separatist and Gar.

brilliance.
Really loved this. 3 days to listen to it too whilst at work.
cemented the fact to myself, that the clone wars era is indeed the greatest of all star wars.
Great characters and was also great to have my favourite assassin Ventress in a lead role.

An Excellent Story
My first novel from Mike Chen and definitely not my last. Anakin has never been my favourite character, mostly the The Attack of the Clones rather than Star Wars: The Clone Wars or Revenge of the Sith. Mike Chen does make him an engaging and interesting character and you can see more of his doubt be given in a more realistic way. As his turn in Revenge of the Sith feels unrealistic.
The novel is split into 3 main characters, there are two other secondary characters as well. Obi-Wan and Anakin each have an extremely engaging story arc that really fleshes out their arcs and the evolution of their relationship.
I was extremely impressed by the story, prose and characters developed by Mike Chen. I would recommend this book for anyone who enjoys Star Wars and/or wants a build up before the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

Great story focusing on Obi-Wan and Anakin
A solid story set in the early days of the Clone Wars, shortly after the events of Geonosis; showing the growing relationship between Obi-Wan and Anakin as brothers/equals assisted by Anakin's promotion and growing maturity. I also liked the chapters being shorter - and from a different person's point of view.

A good story about two brothers
A very good audiobook, I really enjoyed it. It’s clear that Mike Chen gets these characters and it’s so refreshing to see them become brothers. I myself am a prequel trilogy fan, so it is great to see the clone wars show, along with this book develop these characters and make them more nuisanced.
How Anakin was dealing with the changes in his life really resonated with me, how he found it difficult to operate his new mechanical arm (courtesy of the count) and always contemplating his mother’s tale for strength and guidance.
Whether it’s them mowing down battle droids or having an interesting conversation, there’s always something to like. One of the big advantages of the book is that it changes your perspective on the neimodians. Like all other species, they are worth listening to and to prejudge them isn’t doing them justice. Jonathan Davis does an excellent job of narrating the book. I was excited to see him narrate after listening to the Bane trilogy so hats off to him.
However, there are disadvantages for me. The padawan character that works with Anakin was fine, I didn’t really connect with her but she had some interesting force abilities. I felt some chapters weren’t as detailed as others and were quite slow.
Apart from that I enjoyed the book, probably one of my favourite canon books and it brought back Dex so I can’t really complain.
