Summary

The Clone Wars have exploded across the galaxy as Republic forces and Separatists struggle to gain the upper hand. But while the Jedi generals work tirelessly to defeat Count Dooku and his rebels, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine is hatching his own dark plans.

The Separatists have launched a sneak attack on Coruscant. Obi-Wan Kenobi, wounded in battle, insists that Anakin Skywalker and his rookie Padawan, Ahsoka, leave on a risky mission against General Grievous. But when Senator Bail Organa reveals explosive intelligence that could turn the tide of war in the Republic's favor, the Jedi Master agrees to accompany him to an obscure planet on the Outer Rim to verify the facts.

What Obi-Wan and Bail don't realize is that they're walking into a deadly trap concocted by Palpatine...and that excape may not be an option.

Inspired by the full-length animated feature film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the brand-new TV series, this thrilling adventure is filled with provocative, never-before-revealed insights into the characters of Obi-Wan, Anakin, Padme, Yoda, Count Dooku, and many other Star Wars favorites.

Don't be out of by the misleading cover

I almost didn't get this book because I'm not a fan of stories about clone soldiers. We've already been given our fill of that on TV. However, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this is far more a story about Obi-wan Kenobi and Bail Organa - with some extended cameos from characters like Anakin and Padme.

I loved it. If you like those characters too then I'd say this is worth your time. Stuff happens in this book, thanks to Sith manipulations. But, this book isn't really about the action, if that makes sense. It's about two people who really dislike each other suddenly having no choice but to work together. What do they learn about the other? How does that impact their world views? If a character study, on a mysterious planet sounds interesting then this one is for you.

Great!

Belting audiobook! Only thing that I found tedious and a little unnecessary was a full chapter of obi wan and bail organa bickering like little children. If it would of carried on much longer I would of abandoned this book. So for that it lost a star on story. But I liked how picked up right after episode 2 on geonosis, a what happened next thing.

Bail Organa

In the traditional Star Wars there is some dialogue that is a little corny and can sometimes undermine the gravity of the situation. However, overall this is a brilliant story that enhances Bail Organa as a character and shows why he cares so deeply for the Jedi by episode III. I think is the main stand out, his character development is very engaging and seeing him understand what it means and the burden, of being a Jedi. Overall would highly recommend of any Star Wars fan, but those who particularly love the Clone Wars show. 8/10.

Interesting story

This book tells a very interesting and very 'out there' story. You get to see a whole different side of Obi-wan Kenobi, one that you never thought you'd see before. It deviates from the war and focuses on a mystical world in wild space.

The issue I have with this book is that I'm not sure Bail Organa was the right companion for Kenobi. This was a chance to introduce and develop a new character, but Bail doesn't get that many stories, so I suppose he needed some development.

Also, I'm not sure why Rex and the clones are the focal point of the cover, since they literally only say a couple of lines in the whole book.
Other than that, it's an interesting story, especially after the first third. Surprisingly, Jeff Gurner does a pretty good impression of Yoda and Kenobi (that, or I just got used to it) so it's a nice listen!

Hmmmmm

not keen on this story.
maybe because Yoda's voice seemed to be wrong I don't know. but either way it wasn't as good as the first.
The whole part on the Sith planet is too much and the constant die jedi die is annoying to say the least.

Overly Long

I love Jeff Gutners voice, but the story is too long. It’s just 4 hours of Obi Wan having mental breakdowns. Personally, only get this if you enjoy Jeff Gurner

lingering

An interesting book but the storyline was a bit bland. It felt as if there was no plot and the story line just lingered on.
