Summary
A definitive book for any CEO - first time or otherwise - of a high-growth company.
While big company CEOs are usually groomed for the job for years, startup CEOs aren't - and they're often young and relatively inexperienced in business in general.
Author Matt Blumberg, a technology and marketing entrepreneur, knows this all too well. Back in 1999, he started a company called Return Path, which later became the driving force behind the creation of his blog, OnlyOnce - because "you're only a first time CEO once."
Now, more than a decade later, he's written Startup CEO. As the fifth in the StartUp Revolution series, this reliable resource is based on Blumberg's experience as a startup CEO and covers a number of issues he's faced over the dozen years he's been a CEO.
Engaging and informative, this book is essential reading for any, and every, CEO.

Great content, hard listen
The content in this book was really interesting and valuable but the narration felt very choppy and lacked fluidity making it difficult to listen to.

Great book, well worth a listen!
i have listened to this book twice and found as much useful advice in it both times. I like that it gives great examples of the lessons to be learned and the narration is clear and easy to understand.

Enjoyable insight into the thinking and workings
This is an interesting insight into the processes of being a ceo. Even if you are not the spire an entrepreneur and just a person operating in the world of business this book is of benefit, the way the programs and operations are presented can be applied to just running your life and not just running at startup.

Great ideas, covers a lot of information
I can understand why some people wrote it is hard to listen, not because of the narrator, but because of its structure.
The book covers so many topics and really gives you ideas on every aspect of starting a company.
I would highly recommend to listen with a notebook next to you so you can take sooner notes.
It's too bad Audible didn't include the episodes names. There are 53 episodes and it's hard to reference a specific topic.

Ruined by robotic narrator
These books are useful but often cursory - a little like a 'for dummies' book.

Liked it. It gives some insight to how a startup operates. It's worth a listen if you are an employee of a startup or considering starting your own venture.
