Summary

This audiobook is scholarly, educational, and for reference purposes script. Its structure flows around its narrative techniques and reflective practice episodes, presenting several case studies as life stories and self-help strategies. All sections are, in fact, evidence-based research within the public services and private sector psychotherapeutic practice. The text had been praised, by several editors, as topical and potential intriguing and thought-provoking. It was also asserted that strategies offered and transcripts with composite patients, may be absorbed by the listener and in earnest stay with the listener long past the final narrated minute, as they are invited on a journey of therapeutic encounter and improved health.

A great book that is about Self Empowerment, Balance and reaching out to our close environment!

This textbook is written by a professional, giving a great account of Counselling and Psychotherapy Strategies. It seems that is a great tool that has a diverse yet complex purpose in being useful not only for professional use but for individuals that wish to reach out to material that might address certain matters that are of great interest and relevance to their everyday existence and its multifaceted aspects. Being Yourself and V.A.L.I.D.A.T.E. stood out for me as they truly address in detail experiences that we can all relate to. The strategies are clearly highlighted.

Fantastic self help book . Especially easy listen!

Self empowerment at moments of change or life transitions: parenthood (single), relationship breakdown, change of an employment role and retraining. Whole text is about life and a call for an engagement with your community and near environment. It has many directions but none suggested are from an expert* point of view, the writing are down to earth and relatable. Self reflection and a reminder to anyone who needs to be reminded that they are always going to be their own person and perhaps at times (difficult) in our lives we forget to be ourselves and stand up for what we believe and what we are .

Creative and helpful

Wonderful insight on psychotherapeutic relationships and scenarios of difficulties. I liked direct approach to some of most intriguing issues of psychotherapeutic work. Reflective practice essays quite exquisite in their narrative.

Intriguing strategies from least expected client g

What stands out are various stories and scenarios described as transcripts - it feels so real and almost like as transposed into a therapeutic session - with an after thinking and walking alongside therapist's thoughts on their cases. I found it fascinating to say the least - chapter four is a special highlight for me on motivational reasons for seeking closure. Strangest thing - it felt like assisting a private detective at times - perhaps therapy is indeed about discovery - of what nature, that is another thing to keep in mind.
