Summary

Knowledge is power. That would be the motto of Lander University, had it not been snatched up and used to death by others long before the school was founded. For while Lander offers a full range of courses to nearly all students, it also offers a small number of specialty classes to a very select few.

Lander is home to the Hero Certification Program, a curriculum designed to develop student with superhuman capabilities, commonly known as Supers, into official Heroes. Five of this year’s freshmen are extra special. They have a secret aside from their abilities, one that they must guard from even their classmates. Because for every one person in the world with abilities they can control, there are three who lack such skill. These lesser super beings, Powereds as they are called, have always been treated as burdens and second class citizens. Though there has been ample research in the area, no one has ever succeeded in turning a Powered into a regular human, let alone a Super.

That is, until no....…

Absolutely Fantastic

I have already listened to the original version of this audiobook (and it’s whole series) but this dramatised version was even better.

This was easily the best audiobook performance I’ve heard and is supported further by a great story.

Already looking forward to starting the dramatised version for year 2.

Super Powereds: Year One Dramatised Adaptation review by Albert Anness

Absolutely outstanding! Having read the original audio book my feeling on the story remain the same. The thrilling and captivating story and writing. The likeable and diverse cast of characters and this well thought out world the writer bought to life.

This book takes it to a new level- the sound effects and editing make it all sound real and isn't kidding when it says a movie in your mind as I can picture it all perfectly. The cast too was outstanding and put so much emotion and heart into their performance capturing the characters and their state. It was also really well casted with characters such as Nick, Alice, Mary, Mr. Transport, Mr. Numbers, Herschel, Roy, Dean Blaine, Coach George etc. My only complaint would be that I wasn't 100 percent sure on some of the casting for the voices such as Vince or Will, don't get me wrong the actors were amazing I just didn't feel their voices suited the characters, although that's probably just my opinion anyway.

Overall I really enjoyed this audio production and would highly recommend it to anyone interested particularly in the Superpowereds books.

GA adaptation offers a fresh perspective

This book needs to be adapted to cinema. I have listened to the original and now the GA version. It offers a different perspective as all characters have voices and the sound effects adds realism.

For all lovers of high school story journeys, superheroes or even fantasy stories it's a must.
