About this listen

The million-copy, New York Times bestselling Murderbot series is back in another full-length novel adventure!

Am I making it worse? I think I'm making it worse.

Everyone's favorite lethal SecUnit is back.

Following the events in Network Effect, the Barish-Estranza corporation has sent rescue ships to a newly colonized planet in peril, as well as additional SecUnits. But if there's an ethical corporation out there, Murderbot has yet to find it, and if Barish-Estranza can't have the planet, they're sure as hell not leaving without something. If that something just happens to be an entire colony of humans, well, a free workforce is a decent runner-up prize.

But there's something wrong with Murderbot; it isn't running within normal operational parameters. ART's crew and the humans from Preservation are doing everything they can to protect the colonists, but with Barish-Estranza's SecUnit-heavy persuasion teams, they're going to have to hope Murderbot figures out what's wrong with itself, and fast!

Yeah, this plan is... not going to work.

A fun story, not as much punch as the others

This is a great series, a fun take on future AI and what that means. If you are a fan this is another great installment, but read the others first.

Alien technology, robots and feelings

A bit short but classic internal murderbot dialogue and Ai/ Human moral dilemmas… looking forward to the next instalment

Loved it

I read all the books in this series and loved every one of them and this long awaited 8th book is best so far. I hope the Murderbot Series goes on and on. Kevin R Free narrates the series perfectly

My Sanctuary Moon

I have listened to this series almost as many times as Murderbot has watched The Rise and Fall of Sanctuary Moon and it never gets old. Kevin R Free is the voice of Murderbot, no question. I love the world that Martha Wells has created and see a lot of parallels between our corporate culture and the fictional one of the books. I only hope if that is our future, then ART and Murderbot are there too.

Really good, again

I think I maybe would have preferred more action though.

What captivated me the most was the realistic portrayal of PTSD/ill mental health in that it colours your whole existence, makes you question your basic capabilities, takes a while to realise that you have a problem, what it is and to get help.

Love the main character

Great reader. Main character is brilliant but so are the supporting characters (both robotic and human).
Storylines are always good in this series.

I look forward to more in the series

Whilst I don’t think this was the strongest story in the series. A lot of finding a place, walking into the place, talking with people, talking with more people etc, which wasn’t the best use of murder bot. I have love the series as a whole and can’t wait to find out what happens next.

Brilliant alternative point of view

Fantastic short stories with a refreshing viewpoint, really funny, really sad, really thought provoking writing and fantastic narration.
