About this listen
The Army trained Lieutenant Liberty McCoy to be the best—an elite Special Forces soldier, just like her father and uncles. But nothing prepared her for the bossy, good-looking Navy SEAL who rescues her after a mission goes horribly wrong.
Navy SEAL Drake Hayes thinks his team is being sent out on a special purpose extraction. He’s had enough experience to expect the unexpected. But nothing prepared him for the brave, tough woman he finds.
Their attraction is immediate, overwhelming, and all-consuming. But distance and military regulations force Drake to walk away.
When Liberty’s family discovers her capture wasn’t an act of war but a decade’s old personal vendetta and she’s still in danger, the men of the 707 move swiftly to exact their revenge. Haunted by the torture she’d endured, plagued with guilt, and heartbroken over losing the man she’d fallen in love with, Liberty spirals out of control, leaving her alone, lost, and adrift. When Drake faces the decision to save his career and reputation or the woman he loves, the choice is easy. Leaving everything he’d worked so hard for behind, it’s time to follow his heart.
Will Drake make it in time, or is Liberty too far gone?

Great series of stories.
The first 4 books about Jasper, Lennox, Levi and Court were in the plus catalogue so I listened because they were free. I enjoyed them so much that I used my credits to listen to the Next generation series.
Narration was superb with special mention of Troy Duran’s lovely gravelly voice.

An ending and a beginning all wrapped up into one
No getting away from it, this is a long listen. You will, at times, also need to be seated with tissues and a warm blanket and possibly your significant other close to give you reassuring hugs and remind you that (dammit!) its just a story and not really real …
When i say you feel all the emotions, their word limit in this review isn’t long enough to name them all. This book is just THAT GOOD.
I would honestly say Liberty and Drake are #couplegoals but to be fair, i don’t wish their journey on anyone. This book hits hard and pulls not a single punch in breaking down both characters to their souls then rebuilding them. It beautiful and horrible at times in equal measure. The Uncles AND the cousins are involved in a knock out, blood and tears spilling effort to bring life and light back to their world and it remains one of my most favourite written scene ever in any book i have ever read.
Troy and Devon bring such life to this story that I knew there were scenes I couldn’t listen to narrated whilst in my car (my usual listening time) because I would either totally miss my turn off and end up in Scotland after a 6 hours detour, or crash my car. So many characters, such an intense story line and it was narrated with amazing skill.
This book navigates to well the wrapping up of the next generation (with 2 characters conspicuously still single…hmmmm), giving Drake and Liberty a story for the ages, as well as giving us more insight and depth to the characters previously introduced in Carter and Delaney’s story who will be central to the Triple Canopy series. And none of this is done by stealing limelight from anyone, all this is done so completely and well that you feel a sense of satisfaction in the round up (that epilogue…..Jasper kills me!) and a sense of anticipation for what is to come.
