Summary
Bella:
Being a fighter is in my blood. My grandfather was a fighter, my father was a fighter, and I'm a fighter. I live for the rush of adrenaline and sensation of victory. When I fight, I give it my all. I step into the octagon and fight until there's nothing left to fight for. He's been my best friend for most of my life. I've fought with him, fought against him, and for the longest time, I fought for him, for us. Until he pushed me away, leaving me no choice but to tap out.
Marco:
Fighting is what saved me. It shed the old me, and I became a newer shinier version of myself. Until it took away everything I loved. I gave up and tapped out. Then one day, she came back into my life and reminded me that some things are worth fighting for. Now, I'm fighting for us, day by day, proving to her that our happily ever after is worth fighting for.

Nikki Ash does it again.
Nikki Ash does it again
Having absolutely devoured the fighting series, being able to catch up with the parents and the kids who are now grown adults was amazing.
Bella, is now 21, and trying to break into fighting. Marco is in his late 20's and after winning a title fight finds himself in an accident that puts his best friend in a coma and addicted to drugs.
After a pregnancy revelation from Bella, Tristan steps up to be the father to her baby, no questions asked. Until Marco comes back ready to fight for his girl.
Pink Flamingo did it again with this audio, I don't know what they put in her audiobooks, but they're addictive. 🖤

Love and redeption
I hate the path that Marco went down but I love that Bella saved him and that he saved himself. This was a great book about second chances and living up to your potential and working for what you want. The struggle was real for Marco and Bella but they worked and made it all work. Great listen!

fighting indeed
I just read one of the parents stories lately and i was so excited to read this. It was heavy on the angst and more than one chance was given out and asked for but I truly enjoy this and i think the author might be one of my new favourites.

Great narration, book was ok
The audiobook was well done. Gregory Salinas's voice was so smooth, maybe a touch too smooth, for Marco but a pleasure to listen to and he did a great job playing multiple characters. Kasi Hollowell also did really well and I really enjoyed the book through their performance.
The story itself was ok. I'm a huge fan of Nikki Ash and always love when she has a new book and this book, for instance, I bought and was on my TBR list until I listened to the audiobook. Well, as a character driven reader, Marco drove me batty and not in a good way. Bella was a good character but took too much from her best friend turned lover. Nikki Ash does not shy away from tough subjects, including in this book, where drug addiction and survivor's guilt led to poor behaviors. But I wished redemption came earlier and I was hoping Bella would have Tapped out earlier than she did! But then, we wouldn't get the ending, which as always, was well done and sweet. Narration a 4.5, story a 3.5.

Emotional
What an emotional roller coaster. Marco and Bella have always been the best of friends, and their story was full of so many emotions.
This was such an intense story, full of friendships, heartaches, laughter, sadness, loss, love and forgiveness.
There was so much love, but there was also a lot of healing and growing that had to happen.

What an amazing start to this series!
I wasn't done with the characters from Nikki Ash's Fighting series. They had become my friends, and now I don't have to be! The next generation is coming up and it's fantastic! Bella has grown up fighting. Her father a trainer, she was in the gym all her life, and sparred with favorite, Marco. Marco's early childhood was not good, so when the chance came for Hayley and Caleb to adopt him, they took it. Now also a fighter, he is ready to move on with his career. Sparks fly between these two, but with their age difference and the fact her father owns the gym, Marco has always kept his distance. Until tragedy strikes, and he goes down a path that changes their lives forever. Now it's up to Marco to win back the love he wants and prove he is the man she needs. Talk about swoony? Ash packs this story with all the feels, from frustration to pain and love. It's a phenomenal start to this new series and I could not stop listening! I can't wait to hear what she has coming next!
Gregory Salinas as Marco is a spot on casting! He plays Marco with the darkness that lives in him but shines the light that overshadows it all. He is amazing with all the feels. Kasi Hollowell is Bella, with all the snark but adds the vulnerability she needs to make her emotions realistic. I loved this team, and together they were magic!

Amazing Story & Narration🎧 Riveting & Emotional!
This is an excellent start to an amazing new series, a sports romance that not only captivated my attention the entire time, but tugged at my heartstrings too. Bella comes from a family of fighters and from a young age she was determined to become one herself and put in the work at the gym. Marco is also training to become a fighter, and she has crushed on him for as long as she could remember, but he did not see her that way, or so she thought. She is getting older, and she finally gets him to kiss her, but then he runs, and it becomes a cycle because when he returns they hook up again, only for him to run again. She continued to focus on her studies and always working out to be ready to get in the ring again. Marco does well in the ring, and becomes an undefeated champion, but his life takes a turn when he and his best friend, Logan, are in a car accident. His life goes spiraling down a rabbit hole of pain, guilt and drugs to relieve both. His family and friends try to rescue him, including Bella, but he did not want the help and pushed everyone away, including Bella. And when he receives eye opening news about Bella, he knows he needs help and will have to do a lot of groveling to those he hurt. I loved how everything played out in this book, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. There is never a dull moment in this book and there is plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. Nikki Ash, thank you for another fantastic story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 Gregory Salinas and Kasi Hollowell were the perfect narrators to bring these characters to life, and they did an amazing job portraying them, giving each a voice that was fitting. I loved how they took each role and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. Salinas nailed it as Marco, grasping all aspects of his personality and his tormented soul. Hollowell was just as fabulous as Bella, also grasping all sides of her personality, including her strength and determination. Both were fantastic performing the roles of the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. These two entertaining storytellers are pleasure to listen to. Thanks for another great listen.

Roller Coaster Ride of Emotions
I was sucked in to this story right from the very beginning. I love a good pregnancy story, and the author started this book off right. Tapping Out is about Bella an MMA fighter who finds herself pregnant and then the story alternates between the past and present weaving the tale about the baby's father and their very, very comlpicated history.
Marco and Bella have been best friends since they met, and as they grew up Bell's feelings turned into more. The chemistry between them definitely wasn't lacking which would indicate maybe Marco had feelings for Bella that were more than just friends as well. There were a couple of occasions where things got heated but then Marco ran, and their friendship suffered.
After being in a horrific car accident, Marco is in a lot of pain and his life spirals. With Marco being in really bad shape, Bella decides to move along with her pregnancy without him.
This story is full of back and forths, and a whole lot of poor decision making, mostly on Marco's part, but also on Bella's. I think the story had a lot of promise, but I struggle when stories are based solely on a lot of drama just for drama sake, and this story was a lot of drama. While Marco's substance abuse was a very real issue, I think his recovery could have been developed further and I struggled with his constant running and poor treatment of Bella and her continued acceptance of it. I did like that he was a good hands on dad, and when he was present he was all in.
The narration for this audiobook was fantastic. Gregory Salinas and Kasi Hollowell did a wonderful job bringing this story to life as Marco and Bella and I would highly, highly recommend them both as narrators. Pink Flamingo Productions The Flock VIP Review Team

Listening was better than reading
I did enjoy the story but Bella bugged me more than I thought she would and at the time of reading the first time I was annoyed so much for Tristan I couldn’t keep going. Now that I know who Tristan ended up with I could keep going.
I glad how the story ended and feel got better but I still was annoyed at Bella throughout book that couldn’t give it the book the stars it probably deserves.

Ringside Seats to Heartache and Triumph
I recently had the chance to listen to this audiobook narrated by Gregory Salinas and Kasi Hollowell. I found the experience to be quite gripping. Salinas and Hollowell did an excellent job of bringing the characters of Bella and Marco to life. Bella's journey as an MMA fighter and her tumultuous relationship with Marco, who struggles deeply with addiction, kept me hooked. The narration added a rich layer of emotion to the already intense story. Although the plot sometimes felt overly dramatic, the themes of resilience and redemption were beautifully handled. Overall, the audiobook made Bella's and Marco's emotional battles and eventual healing very real and poignant. I would highly recommend it to those who enjoy intense, character-driven narratives.
