Summary
Jazz: I’m in love with my straight best friend...
Prison changed me, mostly for the better, but it could never erase my love for Tex. Growing up together in foster care he was my one constant, and I hate all the ways I’ve let him down. Now that I’m free my biggest wish is to settle back into our friendship and life in our MC. I know I’ll never have anything more. But the glances Tex keeps shooting me are enough to make me question...is my brother looking at me differently?
Tex: I can’t be checking Jazz out...
Just because my friends are gay, it doesn’t mean I am, no matter how good Jazz looks. Right? I love the guy, but I can’t love him. Except now that I’m thinking about him that way, I can’t stop. He just got out of prison and I can’t risk losing him again because I’m confused. He’s supposed to be my brother.
But when an old enemy shows up, I may end up losing him anyway. Can I trust that Jazz really learned his lesson in prison? Or will old habits get him taken away for good?
Tex is book five in the Hell’s Ankhor m/m MC series. Listen for a slow burn that will singe your heart as two former foster brothers discover just how deep their feelings go...and discover that Tex isn't as straight as he thought he was.

Beautiful friends to lovers story
Fantastic addition to the series!
Tex and Jazz had a beautiful connection and friendship but what happens when one wants more?
Tex had so much to figure out but once he did, there was no stopping him, from claiming what his heart wanted.
The narrator was amazing - I could happily listen to his narration all day.

Good book
I loved the personal development of Jazz. His and Tex’s friendship and eventual relationship are are #relationshipgoals. Narrator was pretty good, too.

My favorite MC series
Jazz and Tex have a complicated relationship - foster brothers, ex-con, and an am I gay story all mixed together. It was clear these two were meant for each other but watching the author of my favorite MC club series get them there was wonderful and angsty all at once. The club members always have great enemies to overcome to get to their HEA and this one is no different. Gulped it down and now can't wait for the next volume. David Allen Vargo does a wonderful job with this performance. Crave's evil is palpable and the angsty relationship between Jazz and Tex is on full display. You will feel all the tension from both the evil lurking about and the love trying to come to the fore as you listen.

Captivating
This has been a well thought out, fun, yet emotional series and this book fit right in.
Best friends since school, Tex and Jazz made their way to California to make a life with Hell's Ankhor. For the last three years, Jazz has been serving time in San Quentin, but now he's out and a changed man. The one thing that hasn't changed is his desire for his straight best friend.
Tex has always taken care of Jazz, and after 3 years without him, it's the only thing he wants to do. But Jazz wants more. From Tex, from life, from love.
The pair lined up well and fought hard for each other in the end. Was an entertaining listen.

Be aware chapter 17
I am not sure if or when you listen to the audio but at the time I listened to the book there was an issue with Chapter 17. It is fine for the first 10-20mins but the rest of it is just repeating the scene another 2 or 3 times. Outside of this issue the story was fine, the self discovery was great and I'm curious how the background story will work in future books due to BIG BIG things happening.
Narration was good. No issues there.

Super addition
Another great addition to the series by Aiden Bates and Ali Lyda. Jazz and Tex were super characters to get to know and be part of their journey. All the books in the series is amazing and different enough to keep you entertained. David Allen Vargo did a fantastic job with the narration, transports you right into the story.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Wonderful book 5 in the series!
I never get tired to read more books on this series. Every new installment is better than the previous one and I never know what is going to happen next. Tex and Jazz' s story is about two best friends finding out that love was always in front of them, and how we need to confront our mistakes and accept that all deserved to love and being loved. I enjoyed Tex's POV and his take in life. Of course, Mr Vargo's narration was amazing. His deep voice and acting got me since the begining. An outstanding performance. Wonderful!

Hot!
This was such an awesome listen! The characters were so well written and the plot was interesting and nothing like the others in the series!
The audio was really well done. I liked the way Vargo voices Tex. Spicy and sweet.
Excellent

intense best friends to lovers
a long time coming! I loved Tex and Jazz and really enjoyed their story. Hot, passionate and surprising. I liked Tex's easy acceptance of his feelings (once he finally realised them) and his connection with Jazz is everything you'd want. I liked that the overarching storyline was concluded even if a little anticlimactic but I'm excited to see what's next for Hell's Anchor!!

Tex
Tex’s story is the 5th in the Hell’s Ankhor series and is by far the best!
It’s a friends to lover’s, slow burn, love story of two men, Tex and Jazz, who have known each other since adolescence.
Growing up and aging out of the foster system they find themselves a home and family with the Hell’s Ankhor MC.
Jazz has always been in love with Tex but Tex is straight, so Jazz learns to hide his feelings until, after having to spend 3 years in prison, on his release, things have changed.
Tex can’t understand his feelings now Jazz is back and it takes a threat to the club and a near miss to Jazz for Tex to realise his true feelings for Jazz.
I absolutely loved the way the writers dealt with Tex’s journey of realising his feelings for Jazz.
This is the first time I have listened to a book narrated by David Allen Vargo and I have to say I was immensely impressed!
He gave each of the main characters different and distinctive voices which matched their rough, tough personas. He also gave supporting characters different voices, even the women.
I hope he narrates the rest of the series and look forward to him narrating other books in this genre.
