About this listen

Brilliant and ambitious, Rezdin the Wizard has one goal: impress the king. But he answers to Baron von Dappenshien who refuses him access to Court. Before Rezdin can maneuver himself into the limelight, the king charges von Dappenshien with treason, and Rezdin goes to ground. The wizard finds himself dependent upon the wits and good will of a starving street urchin. But what can he offer little Tommy in return? When old dangers and new alliances rear their menacing heads, Rezdin must decide where his true loyalties lie, and what to do with his newfound entourage of one.

story ruined by the poor performance

I had to give up this book as for once the story might have been getting interesting but the reading and general performance was nothing short of dreadful. The voice just droned on with little on no intonation. you could tell it was being read as the inflection is in the wrong places. No attempt was made to differentiate between characters by the reader and therefore after about 2 hours gave up. I tried i really did as i hate not finishing books, but this one was on the downward spiral from the first page.

i'd read it again with a professional reader but not with Fred.
