About this listen
Sabre Orin Brown's clients keep disappearing. With seemingly no connection between the cases, Sabre enlists the help of her southern PI friend, JP, and her best friend, Bob, to find each of them - before it's too late. In her race against the clock, Sabre must determine whether contemporary horrors are being buried in the shadow of dark traditions - or if it's something else at work. A conspiracy years in the making, secrets hidden for decades, and the twisted work of a mysterious society have all come together in the ultimate test of the strength of Sabre's conviction.

A well crafted story from a masterful storyteller

Having said that, the story was very enjoyable with several main characters carrying on from the first two books in the series, Sabre being as reckless as ever and her friends being as frustrated and concerned for her as she gets herself into hot water.
It is obvious that the author has plenty of experience and knowledge of the court system, although some aspects of that system do seem a bit strange for a UK reader like me!
Overall a good audiobook, but could have been great for me with a different narrator, sorry Laurel!
Good story let down by performance

So much is going on and with so many twist and turns it keeps you listening until the very end, as long as you don't need sleep or get interrupted. I love the way the author weaved the stories together, so you were never quite sure what was going to happen next. I did guess a few of the suspects, only to be hit with a new one that I didn't see coming.
With the unusual story line and the loveable children it made for a really good book and the narrators easy style of talking made it an all round good book, one that you don't mind listening to again in a few months time.
I can say with absolute conviction you will enjoy
