About this listen
Getting rich is not just about luck; happiness is not just a trait we are born with. These aspirations may seem out of reach, but building wealth and being happy are skills we can learn.
So what are these skills, and how do we learn them? What are the principles that should guide our efforts? What does progress really look like?
Naval Ravikant is an entrepreneur, philosopher, and investor who has captivated the world with his principles for building wealth and creating long-term happiness. The Almanack of Naval Ravikant is a collection of Naval’s wisdom and experience from the last 10 years, shared as a curation of his most insightful interviews and poignant reflections. This isn’t a how-to book, or a step-by-step gimmick. Instead, through Naval’s own words, you will learn how to walk your own unique path toward a happier, wealthier life.

the only bad thing about the audiobook is how the narrator says "Buddha". a little bit irritating but kind of amusing too.

18 Carat Gold
5*, I suppose, although I didn't enjoy it as much as I expected. When collected together like this, his thoughts seem slightly less than the sum of their parts, although they are never less than interesting. There's lots of great advice in here, and some dross; it is 18 carat gold.
I recommend first listening to his interview with Shane Parrish on the Knowledge Project before hitting this. Naval's own voice is nicer than the narrator here. The Almanack packages and presents him as a guru (particularly with the nauseous, dreamy tone for the tweets) which is slightly unfair to him. In his own voice, he is more likeable and down-to-earth, and it helps to remember that when listening to this.
I find Ravikant to be extremely thought-provoking. His thoughts on wealth and the modern economy seem very insightful to me, and I found that stuff fascinating. His perspective on happiness is a more mixed bag, a strange blend of kind and thoughtful stoicism embedded in mindful nihilism, with a sociopathic edge.
I imagine his wife rolls her eyes a lot, while he sits in his chair thinking for an hour a day. Can you take the bins out darling? "No, sorry... I just don't do that."
I bought the Kindle book + Audible narration, for £4.50, so cheaper than a credit and leaves open the option to skim-read it on the toilet.

Useful, but not as mind blowing as former reviews hint
Useful tips here and there, some good, some great, some not so appealing to me. Definitely worth a listening to, not too long book either.
Specially his attitude to reading and useful hints for it was something that were high lights for me.

Solid advice but...
...the narration style is way overdone, almost forcing a kind of 'mystical' vibe to what really is just great, solid advice. I could only take this audible version in small dose (and may even just buy the book to get through it). Again, great advice and life lessons, but the forced guru presentation by the reader takes away from it.
