And so it is that the bard and and his young apprentice Rue are taken to Spinestone, the temple warren of the bonedancers. It is here that the bard is ordered to retell the tale that has got him in so much trouble...and so to the next instalment in the astonishing tale of Podkin One-Ear....

Podkin, Paz and Pook once again find their home under threat, but this time they are ready to fight. Podkin and the others leave for Sparrowfast to ask their uncle for the use of his magic bow. It's the one weapon that could save them all. But as they flee into the forest depths, it seems they have been betrayed....

I loved this audio book so much. I mostly loved the fact that the bard was telling the story of the legend of Podkin one ear to the bone dancers and there was a threat with him telling the story and it had interludes explaining the great and what the audience does so it's kind of like a threat in a threat and a story inside a story which is really clever because you can think about 2 character emotions. I also love the whole story line of podkin and his journey to find the sacred gifts. Overall I think the book is well written and that the narrator has a perfect voice for this such a tale. 5 stars every day from me😍😘

A fantasy adventure that is written just superbly!
The final story in the Podkin trilogy brings everything together brilliantly.
Exciting, dangerous, mysterious and magical.
I can honestly say I couldn’t put it down, and am only disappointed that it has taken me so long to read it!
This is a series that I cannot recommend highly enough?

The last book in this series makes for a very good ending to this enthralling series. The narrator was brilliant throughout, with not only different voices but also different accents for the many loveable characters.
My 11yo listened to all 3 books in a row because he couldn't put it down (or whatever the equivalent for an audiobook is!)
Highly recommended to young people who enjoy fantasy and action.
