About this listen

The Book of Revelation is the only book of the Bible with a promise to the reader! Why? What makes this book so special?

Revelation is a lens that puts the entire Bible into focus. The lens is focused on the person of Jesus Christ, and his destiny is imminent. This is a book of victory: We are overcomers! We are the ultimate winners in the game of life! (I read the ending: We win!)

One of the reasons this book strikes us as strange is because of our lack of understanding concerning the Old Testament. The Book of Revelation consists of 404 verses that contain over 800 allusions to the Old Testament. These are detailed, along with Chuck's analysis of the design and structure of this fascinating book. Learn about the past, present, and future of the church and our ultimate destiny. This is an ideal "first study" and foundational for every Christian.

Insightful Exposition

I really enjoyed this book. Chuck is very knowledgeable about the cultural and linguistic nuances that affect the interpretation of the Book of Revelation. I found his regular recaps of previous study sessions to be very helpful. I recommend this book to anyone who is searching for a deeper understanding of the Book of Revelation.

Very interesting

Listening to Chuck’s talks (Genesis, John and now Revelation) has be absolutely eye opening. I’m very grateful for his work and am going to keep going and move onto the book of Joshua and Learn the Bible in 24 hours, and Nancy’s book The Way of Agape. Thank you Chuck, and Nancy.

Excellent Exposition On The Book Of Revelation

I have thoroughly enjoyed my journey with Dr. Chuck Missler on his commentary and exposition of the book of Revelation. This is my first ever teaching experience of Dr. Missler and I now consider myself a student for all his other commentaries and expositions. Thank you Dr. Missler

Commentary on the book of Revelation

Dr. Chuck Missler walks through the book of Revelation explaining it verse by verse, and backing up his interpretation by sharing verses and insights from other books in the Bible.

Excellent commentary, that takes a literal approach to the Bible and the book of Revelation.

The best book on the Best Book of the Bible!

Chuck encourages every Bible student to search the Scriptures to test whether things are true and takes you the reader/listener on an exciting, in-depth, Bible-wide exploration of the book of Revelation with deep insight and fascinating discovery.

Anyone who loves piecing together clues and peeling back superficial layers will find great pleasure, not to mention priceless treasure, in the scholarship and sweeping narrative of this commentary.

His warmth and kindness, obvious passion for the material, occasional eye-roll worthy ‘Dad jokes’ and natural talent for teaching will make you wish you could sit with him by the fireside and learn from him in person.

In every way, this book is a real treat and I’m confident you’ll be richly blessed.

Fundamentalist millenarianism at its most extreme

I will say that, whilst other reviewers have their criticisms, I actually really enjoyed the vocal performance. It's a bit too fast at times to take everything in but Missler brings a lot of energy to his sermons, which is all the more impressive given his respiratory problems at this late stage of his life.

Unfortunately, the commentary itself is incredibly weak. Missler takes the fundamentalist millenarian view that the Bible predicts a literal end time and that this end time is closer than ever before (every generation has had people who have said this). This view would not be harmful if it didn't justify Missler's extreme form of Christian Zionism. His argument hinges on the claim that America must support the political state of Israel in its conflict with Palestine or else risks punishment by God. I should not have to explain how dangerous to politics and foreign policy this idea is.

There is also a deep sectarianism underlying Missler's sermons. He rages against Catholics, ecumenical Christians and any other Christians who adopt an 'Amillenial' stance on the end time - going so far as to say that supersessionists (who believe the universal church superseded the ancient Israel of the Bible) are inherently antisemitic.

For those interested in Revelation, I would instead recommend 'Revelations: Visions, Prophecy, and Politics in the Book of Revelation', available here on Audible, or the two-part commentary in William Barclay's 'New Daily Study Bible' series.

Awful narration

Stupidly didn't listen to a sample before I purchased, when I started listening I was unable to understand narrator, Chuck missler, he spoke too fast and mumbled toward end of sentence just gave up! Worst of all I purchased 3 other titles by same author and narrator which I didn't waste time and being frustrated by. Was unaware I could have exchanged this and other books by Chuck Muscles until very recently now it appears I am too late to do so.. Most frustrating!
