Summary

This isn’t your grandmother’s book on meditation. It’s about integrating that "spiritual practice" thing into a life that includes beer, sex, and a boss who doesn’t understand you. It’s about making a difference in yourself and making a difference in your world - whether you’ve got everything figured out yet or not. Lodro Rinzler is a bright and funny young teacher with a knack for showing how the Buddhist teachings can have a positive impact on every little nook and cranny of your life - whether you’re interested in being a Buddhist or not.

Excellent - A different viewpoint on Buddhism

I enjoyed this audiobook. A bit different and more down to earth than most Buddhist publications. Thank you to the author for making it available.

A western look at buddhism

A slightly generic but good book. Narration was well done. You probably won't learn anything new here but it's definitely an enjoyable listen.

Does what it says on the tin.

This was a good audio book. I enjoyed it and I do feel like I have learnt a lot. Broadly I would like some more work into arranging the concepts. Maybe a better summary chapter at the end that lays out exactly what the advice and exercises were. But that may also be my low attention span kicking in. Great book overall!

There is an awful lot to absorb

Need to revisit this, very well explained, but very complex and dense. Some of it not very relevant to a 70 something. Took me ages to work out what a Urbal was….

Interesting bits interchanged with generalities

Some parts of the book were really eye opening, other parts were either repetitive, cliche or too theoretical. The good parts are worth the listen though, so I do recommend to listen to this book. The audio quality of the reading is mediocre.
