About this listen

Here's a first-person account of a petty thief, Bex. He's a bit of a geezer, who, with long-time partner-in-crime Ollie, just about gets by on the money he makes from house-breaking in small-time suburbia. Bex talks and walks us through a dozen noteworthy jobs and give us his thoughts on life, love and nicking.

Includes an exclusive recorded interview with the author.

I bought this as I wanted a light-hearted, British read, and The Burglar Diaries was indeed light-hearted, well-written, British, and brilliantly narrated to boot.

I think that this might be a better book to read, as opposed to "listen to". I say this because I found the constant swearing a bit much. I don't have a problem with swearing, but if you took out all the "effing, c***ing" and so on, I think that the book would be a quarter shorter. It just jarred every time the narrator swore and distracted me from listening.

In terms of content, I thought that the philosophy of the burglar was interesting and enjoyed the insight into the character's thought processes and think this is a great read or listen if you can get past swearing.

A fun listen but too many "f***" and *c***" for me

dave john, again, does a great narrative. im a big fan of his and his narration of kings books are always a pleasure to listen to.
the story itself lacks a plot and direct but still funny and interesting. The swearing can seem a bit ott but hey...it is a king book so to be expected. all in all, not my favourite of dannys books but still worth getting.

worth the time

Danny King does it again.
I loved the hitman diaries and this is just as well written and will have you laughing, chuckling and giggling before you realise everyone else is watching you.

Another Brilliant listen

The naration was good, stories amusing, but there was no plot or story whatsoever. You could listen to the chapters in order and it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference.
It's fun for a light 'read' if you want to switch off, or are likely to fall asleep half way through, but that's all.

Fun but pointless
