About this listen

In an alternate St. Petersburg, librarian-spy Irene faces unimaginable dangers – as her arch-nemesis returns. The Burning Page is the third instalment in the Invisible Library series from bestselling author Genevieve Cogman.

Librarian-spy Irene is on probation – and absconding from a mission doesn't look good. But when her escape route home goes up in flames, what's a spy to do?

It turns out, Irene's home, the trans-dimensional library, is under siege. Across dozens of worlds, its once-reliable Gates back to the library are malfunctioning. Irene's nemesis, Alberich, is responsible – with plans to annihilate the library itself.

To face the threat, Irene and assistant Kai are posted to St Petersburg. Here, Irene stumbles upon an incredibly dangerous – yet alluring – opportunity. It's a chance to save the library. Saving herself would be a bonus . . .

Brace yourself for an action-filled ride with stolen books, covert operatives, and clandestine societies!

Irene's adventures continue in The Lost Plot, the next captivating entry in The Invisible Library series.

Critic reviews

Brilliant and so much fun. Skulduggery, Librarians, and Dragons – Cogman keeps upping the ante on this delightful series! (Charles Stross, author of the Laundry Files, including The Atrocity Archives)

I love this series. and the narrator is amazing, she provides such a vivid image of the action. Irene might be one of my favourite book characters, she is a fierce, strong, sensible woman ,but who also believes in friendship.

narrated to perfection

This series would make a great dramatic film or box set. The excellent narration from Kristin does help with the imagination along with the descriptive and well defined writing by Genevieve.
Thank you both.

stumbled across the first audible free in my local library.

Needless to say, I know where my credits are going now whilst waiting for Simon scarrow to release other books. different genre but from someone that was brought up on Harry Potter and lord of the rings, I would say this is a lovely medium between the two.

random find which is amazing

Although I have to say I struggle with the narrator who I feel detracts considerably. She’s not fluent and some of her voices for characters are very odd. I feel the books would be so much better if they had a different narrator or you actually read the paper version as opposed to listening to them.

The stories themselves are a great romp!

I do love these books

Amazing writing, characters are like friends now, narration is fantastic. Just the right pace to keep you hooked. I’ve had to buy extra credits as I cannot wait to hear what happens next in this fab series.

Very enjoyable, narration superb. Dwells a little too long on Irene's introspection perhaps. Character interdynamic tension building nicely.

Another in the journey
