About this listen
Discover a new series of whodunits by million-selling author Faith Martin. These charming mysteries will have you scratching your head to work out who the murderer is.
Meet Jenny Starling: travelling cook and reluctant amateur detective.
Please note this book was first published as An Invisible Murder under Faith Martin’s pen name Joyce Cato.
Jenny Starling has her dream job cooking for Lord and Lady Avonsleigh in a genuine castle.
Then one of the castle’s treasures, a fabulously jewelled dagger, is used to murder a staff member. The victim is found stabbed through the heart in the conservatory.
Lady Avonsleigh insists that Jenny help the police find the murderer.
But how can Jenny solve this case when the murder was committed in front of several reliable witnesses, none of whom saw a thing?
This is the fourth of a series of enjoyable murder mysteries with a great cast of characters and baffling crimes which will keep you in suspense to the very end.
Perfect for fans of classic whodunits by authors like Agatha Christie, LJ Ross, TE Kinsey, and J.R. Ellis.

Wonderful
I’m delighted, loved the storyline, very good twists and turns The gentle voice of the narrator was perfect May I ask if she could be direct to liven the pace

An amazing listen
It's not very often you get a murder in a castle, so this story was most enjoyable. I've read at least 1 other story in this series, and now can't wait to read more. Very well narrated.

Absolute rubbish.
I have been a member of Audible for quite a few years and purchased over 400 books. This book has had the most obvious plot and frustrating ending of all of them. Totally convoluted and drawn out finish that totally killed the reading experience. Had the total opposite of a good read.

too obvious
so far the poorest in the series. the prievious stories might have been latgely obvious, but this one wad just too plain. the murder method was obvious from the beginning, bits of it even before it happened. the who and why very shortly after. then you have to spend half of the book listening to our amateur detective being stupid not seeing the obvious stuff, why everybody praising her for being smart. but still, nowhere near as annoying as many books written in this genre so I guess i keep going with the series

Ok, nothing special
It was an easy enough listen and the story was ok-ish, but I felt, and I am sure others may not agree, that is did not set the stage or setting well enough for me. Sounded like it was written as a early 20th Century period, but turned out to be much later from what I can gather. Some of the main characters, whilst moderately entertaining, dont seem to fit into the time period. The narration was ok.
