About this listen

Celebrate the season with this paws-itively heartwarming novella by New York Times best-selling author Emily March - available in audio first!

Mary Landry and her pregnant rescue dog are on their way home for Christmas when the unthinkable happens: Her car breaks down along a deserted stretch of mountain highway in the middle of a blizzard. Facing dire conditions, Mary seeks shelter from a lone cabin in the distance whose warm light beckons her like a Christmas star.

Nick Carstairs has one wish this season - to ride out his least favorite time of the year in peace while working on the latest episode of his hit True Crime podcast. The sexy-voiced podcaster didn’t plan to host a stranger and her pregnant dog, but he’s happy to help a traveler in need…it’s an extra perk that she’s gorgeous. Now if she would just stop trying to change his mind about Christmas.

As they spend time warming up by the fire - and an unexpected attraction roars to life - will Mary help Nick discover the wonder of the season after all?

A short and sweet story. Chosen for the narrators but they brought the story to life in a really likeable way. Would have liked it to be a little longer or maybe an epilogue of the following year!

Cute and Christmassy.

Okay so I listened to this in June, sitting in my sunny garden and doing some colouring! It was absolutely perfect. It hit just the right spot.

It’s Christmas cheer and love at just thaw right level. The narration is brilliant the story moves quickly but we get to see the characters develop. I highly recommend this one for any time of year because as we all know a dog and love are not just for Christmas!

Heartwarming Christmas cheer

And this was a good story to start with and the plot seemed very intriguing. But as soon as the male narrator started I was loosing the story. I thought the voices would be split between the narrators or the male voice only used for one character and his view but half the time I wasn’t sure who was who. For a short story that was too much confusion in my opinion and the characters did not only change the voice but their demeanour as well. I will swap to the printed version as I think it’s worth to read it more than worth listening to it.

I love Christmas stories

I listened to this at Christmas, and loved it so much, I have just gone back for a second listen. It is definitely going onto my list of favourite Christmas listens for future years.
This is a lovely Christmas Romance, narrated by two of my favourite narrators. This one is very PG, compared to the kind of books I usually listen to them both narrate, so suitable for listening by all, for those not keen on spicy romance novels.
Just a really great, fun, happy Christmas short story 😊❤🎄
