Summary

Lynn Ames' first novel, The Price of Fame, has been called "absorbing and filled with romance" (Lori L. Lake, Midwest Book Review). Now Ames is back with the second installment in the lives of Katherine Kyle and Jamison Parker.

Kate and Jay want nothing more than to focus on their love. But as Kate settles in to a new profession, she and Jay become caught up in the middle of a deadly scheme - pawns in a larger game in which the stakes are nothing less than control of the country.

In her new novel of corruption, greed, romance, and danger, Lynn Ames takes us on an unforgettable journey of harrowing conspiracy - and establishes herself as a mistress of suspense. The Cost of Commitment. It could be everything....

OK

its not often I write a review like this but I had conflicts with the story. don't get me wrong it's very well written and the characters of Kate and Jay are compelling and likeable, I'm still in team Jay . the justifications for the main plot climax seemed thin and unplausable but I admit I know very little about American politics as I'm English. at times it seems as if the author is throwing everything in the path Kate and Jay and I suspect it's going to get worse for them , I wish that was dialled down a notch but that's just my personal preference .
in summing up a well written book that leaves me a bit baffled .
as in the first book which I enjoyed more Emily beresford narration was great in bringing the story to life

Good mystery but too long

I do enjoy a bit of political intrigue (in a novel only) and a sapphic romance and this is a good book. However the romance aspect is a bit drawn out and so makes the book longer than needed.

80s cheese

This is super cheesy. The story was actually really well thought out, but the descriptions of the scenes between the women, and the ridiculous over use of the word “lover” really made my teeth itch.
I can imagine this was pretty decent stuff in the 89s but it just hasn’t aged well.
