Summary

Will a dire family secret lead to Fitzwilliam Darcy’s ruin?

Darcy’s heartfelt conversation with Miss Elizabeth Bennet leads to their engagement. But just when his future could not appear brighter, a dreadful revelation casts a cloud of gloom over him, threatening his hopes and plans.

And when an ominous shadow of suspicion falls upon his beloved sister, Georgiana, Darcy is compelled to determine the truth. Does her angelic countenance conceal a deviant, even dangerous, nature?

In this Pride and Prejudice variation, Darcy and Elizabeth face several grim obstacles, including the sudden death of a family member. Will these challenges drive them apart?

The Darcy Secret contains adult situations with themes of violence and a graphic description of a fox hunt.

Excellently written and gripping

After misunderstandings and tribulations, Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy are betrothed.

Just when felicity is assured, Darcy is informed of madness running through the Darcy line.

Elizabeth must be informed before marriage but Darcy is terrified that she will break off the engagement.

Fortunately, Elizabeth is devoted to Darcy, so the wedding goes ahead.

After the honeymoon, a letter arrives which casts a shadow on Georgiana Darcy’s character and even her sanity.

This is an excellent romantic, suspense novel.

Little snippets of Georgiana’s odd behaviour fuel our suspicions. It feels like waves upon the shore. Suspicion rises, but then diminishes, only to rise again.

Excellently written and gripping.

Scott Fleming's narration is enjoyable.

Ridiculous story

I did not like anything about this ridiculous story.I have read a lot of P and P variations and have enjoyed most of them.
I think if this had been my first I would never had listened to another.
Characters were totally unbelievable. The very honourableMr Darcy would never have behaved in his past like the one pictured here.Elizabeth was unbelievable.
And as for Lydia!!Well. She always is a little madame who needed to be better controlled by her silly mother and a father who just wanted to forget his parental duties in order to sit and read in his library. His 2
youngest daughters were regarded by him as being the silliest girls in England.
However.silly and annoying as she was what happened in this book to her was totally crass and unbelievable.

Georgiana too was ridiculous
And as for what happened to previous relatives of Darcy which affected him and Elizabeth was also presented in a silly way, especially when it was all resolved in such an unbelievable way by an apparent genius of a Doctor who was only21!
So all in all very disappointed

And as for the narration!

Darcy’s voice was what would have been expected.
However, when the narrator tried to speak as Elizabeth and other female characters it was just ,again, silly.
Perhaps the story might have been better had it been presented as a story rather than having the characters speaking.
Or perhaps if there could have been a female narrator alongside the male.

A complete waste of a credit and time listening to it.
Sometimes a book has to be listened to for a while before the story becomes acceptable or liked.
But this one,I feel as though I wasted a lot of time which I’ll never get back!!,,
