Summary

Serenity has been forced to hide away from a world where supernaturals, dragon shifters specifically, now rule, and the human population have been forced into subjugation.

Nothing has more value in this new world order than being a human female of mating age. Supernaturals want them, and human families want the riches that come from their daughters being claimed.

Driven out of hiding to survive, Serenity meets her worst nightmare in the form of the Praetor clan of dragons, who discover her and claim she is their Innamorata.

But that's not all: She soon realizes there are dark forces at play and dangerous whispers among her fellow humans.

Will Serenity be able to keep the freedom that she values the most, and deny the soul deep connection to five of the most possessive and determined dragon men in existence? Or, when secrets are revealed, will she choose them and with their help, save the world from plunging once more into darkness?

Contains mature themes.

The dragon’s inamorata

I enjoyed this world and all its characters. The intimate scenes were exciting and the battle and fights scenes exhausting.

Story or Author's story prep?

The premise for this story and the plot were great, however I feel there were opportunities to have more plot related content. The spice was good and the narration was good.
Much of the story felt like the author wanted to get all of her notes into the book. Sometimes the notes when coming up with a story and characters, can be kept for the author to help guide what they have the characters do instead of telling us, seemingly in order, that this character behaves like this and has these adjectives attached. This dragon flies like this, etc... We can build a relationship better with the characters, by coming to our own conclusions that they are hot headed for example, from the conversations they have and the actions they take, rather than being told that straight up.

Slow Paced

Get ready for one dimensional male characters, a rather giddy, feckless female protagonist who describes her bathroom and clothing in mind numbing detail and has already killed 6 people by chapter 26 but worries about the human condition under “supes” rule.

The 5 dragon men coddle and spoil the protagonist like a child, whilst making explicit sexual overtures.

Despite the group mind think and supernatural element of the story being an interesting area to explore, the lack of story line and slow progress just killed it for me.
