About this listen

For centuries, the kingdoms of Grunald and Helven have enjoyed a fragile peace, overseen by a mysterious order known as the Knights of the Hour, after a long war with men lost to the world and their demonic allies.

In the court of Oakhaven, capital city of Grunald, news of the order’s destruction throws the peace into uncertainty, giving rise to factions within the nobility to see their ambitions realized.

Lord Kerr, last Knight of the Hour, finds himself in an impossible position. Caught between the kingdom’s eagerness for war and the search for answers with regard to his order’s fate, he walks a treacherous line in which all options seem to lead to danger, and mortal peril.

Within the depths of the Great Forest, tragedy throws Lana into the sights of two men. One hell-bent on watching the world burn. The other, a mysterious exile returned to prevent it.

Amidst the search for truth, dark forces await the perfect moment to strike and descend the world into war and bloodshed once more.

Really enjoyed!

A great story. The action starts right from the beginning and threads through it throughout. I’m loving the mystery and intrigue and it’s read really well with great pacing.
Really hope there’s another book coming soon!

What a story!!

How amazing those that helped kingdoms are the ones blamed for the killings!! I couldn't stop listening! My heart went out to Kerr when he saw his fallen commrades. Well described that I felt I was there with him! Love the story and narration! Bummed I have to wait for the next book yet excited to find out how it turns out!!!

New Fan

For me, the book started off a little bit slow, but as I continued listening I was drawn into the story. The characters were plausible and I felt like I knew their story. I experienced their joy, sorrow, and kinship and was totally invested in the outcome. Lana amazed me with her skills and perseverance to survive and teach. Curd believes he is the last, but does he survive? The hooded Knight and his relationship to Lana will surely be explored in the next book. Gram and Marrisa, what part will they play in the upcoming war. I must hear book 2 to find out the answers to my questions. I can't wait. Andrew McDermott has a wonderful voice and his inflection is amazing. I am truly a new fan. I am glad I requested this book and realized I am interested in this genre. Wow.

Great storyline, great listen – want more!

Tragedy, betrayal, mystery, intrigue and a lot of action. The Fall of the Hour is a well-constructed story with good characterizations. I was drawn in from the start and just had to keep listening. I was sorry when it came to an end so I hope the next book in the Knights of the Hour series won’t be too far off. Andrew McDermott does a good job with the narration which adds to the enjoyment of listening and it is easy to differentiate between characters for the dialogue. The combination of Graeme J Greenan’s descriptive writing and Andrew McDermott's narration really brings the book to life so that you can visualise the events as if you are there witnessing them.
