Summary

Ansel Bray, an artist known around the world for his tragic hiatus from the canvas. Ansel Bray, a broody, handsome man not known by me, at all. Long dark hair, blue eyes, and dimpled cheeks. I've never met her, but her image is imprinted in my mind. An angel muse who inspires me to paint again.

There is something about him. Something that spurs a need to be as close to him as possible. A need to find out why. There is something about her. Something that draws me in. Something that urges me to find out what her presence means.

Why does the girl in his painting look so much like me? Who is this girl, and why can I see her so vividly?

I shouldn't fall in love with him. I shouldn't fall in love at all.

But fate plays her hand. But fate has other plans.

The lines of my life will blur. The needs of my heart will change.

What a beautiful mess we've made.

Beautiful

Beautiful story by my favourite author. Unfortunately I guessed the twist almost immediately that everyone talked about in reviews I'd read but it was still an amazing story. Great audio readers too.

Enjoyable, but bit of a predictable storyline...

Enjoyed the story, but sore point was male narrator... Alexander Cendese does really irritating female voices, very nasal and whiny.

Apart from that, I was frustrated waiting for the characters to catch up with what was obvious was happening 🙄 However, I did like the subsequent story when everybody finally caught up.

Not as humorous as the usual Max Monroe stories. I prefer their other books.

quirky

Sometimes, plotlines can be glaringly obvious. This one waited until at least halfway through. enjoyable and at times lol.

a very unusual story

a difficult subject to incorporate into a romance novel. But it was done with real sensitivity in this book.

Very cliched with an unlikable lead

I had high hopes for this one, given the high ratings, but it ended up being very disappointing for me. I didn't enjoy the story itself, it was a little too cliched and predictable. :Plus it included a trope I am not a fan of. Couldn't really buy the romance in this one, which is a pretty big problem for a romance to have. Also, as far as the narrators go, Stephanie was okay but Alexander Cendese is painful to listen to because his take on female voices is like nails on a chalkboard.
