Summary
A bold, seductive laird meets his passionate match in a scintillating Highland romance from New York Times best-selling author Lynsay Sands
Sword fighting, swearing, and riding astride come naturally to Saidh Buchanan. Simpering and holding her tongue - definitely not. Raised alongside seven boisterous brothers, Saidh has little interest in saddling herself with a husband... until she glimpses the new Laird MacDonnell bathing naked in the loch. Though she's far from a proper lady, the brawny Highlander makes Saidh feel every inch a woman.
She has an angel's looks, a warrior's temper, and seeks out his kisses with wanton eagerness. Little wonder that Greer is intrigued by his comely guest. When reckless desire overtakes them, he's more than willing to make an honest woman of her. But Saidh is the target of a hidden enemy, and Greer faces the battle of his life to safeguard the woman he wants above all others.

Tomboy bride; incohesive plot; strong narrator
The plot of this book had some interesting little twists, but in the end it was not really that cohesive of a story. Some of the characters could have been developed a lot more thoroughly. I did appreciate the humor of the heroine's brothers and the young squire, though.
The success of this audio book was really carried by the narrator, who did good voices and accents. If I had just read the book, it would have been much less remarkable.

Another enjoyable book in the series
Another narrator which is slightly frustrating, three books with three narrators!
It was also slightly frustrating that the narrator mispronounced the heroine's name the whole way through! I really would think that when you see a less-common name "Saidh" you would check how it is pronounced! I simply Googled it to confirm that it is pronounced as it was in the last book ie "see-v" and not as "say-d" which is how it is spelt!
Other than that, like in the previous book, I didn't spot the culprit before the reveal, which is gratifying!

Not up the Lynsay Sands Standards
What disappointed you about The Highlander Takes a Bride?
Was not up the usual standard of the author.
What was most disappointing about Lynsay Sands’s story?
Underdevoloped Characters.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Penelope Nederhorst?
Why not!
What character would you cut from The Highlander Takes a Bride?
Millie.
Any additional comments?
Story just was not believable, that would be ok, if it would have been a laugh out loud one, but it was not.
