Summary
The emotional, contemporary, and completely relatable novel from romcom sensation Nicola May
Previously published as The Hub by Nicola May.
Jilted by her soap opera fiancé, crime writer August Saunders decides to return to her roots in rural Wiltshire. Determined to reignite her writing mojo, she rents a desk in a shared workspace in local Futtingbrook Farm.
The converted barn comes with a motley array of fellow users, including a matchmaker, a TikToker with a dodgy nocturnal side-line and an ethical clothes designer—causing August to realize she doesn’t have far to look for real-life plot fuel!
There’s also a real-life mystery for her to solve. Why is Max Ronson, the handsome but volatile owner, so evasive about his past? And who or what is he hiding on the premises?
As August begins to unravel the shadowy secrets of Futtingbrook Farm, will her curiosity snuff out the spark of romance—or ignite it?
Nicola May uses her inimitable style to convey love, grief, and happiness, making Futtingbrook Farm as beloved a location as Ferry Lane Market or Cockleberry Bay.
Perfect for fans of Milly Johnson, Sarah Morgan, Jill Mansell, and Cathy Bramley.

Just what I needed. Absolutely loved it…
Really loved listening to this. Narrator was excellent. Great characters, great story. Was able to lose myself in this during a really difficult time.
This is as good as the rest of them. I’m now waiting for the next one. Hopefully we won’t have to wait to long!!!

Interesting entertaining …..
Ok my positives on this book were that it’s a great entertaining novel.
An interesting set up and a great insight into how life affects people in so many ways.
My one negative was the use of the C*** word not once not even twice but four times.
Now I’m sorry if this sounds prudish bug in my opinion it is derogatory to women and has no place in this kind of literature.
If my grandchildren wanted to read what I was reading it I certainly would not recommend.
And I say that because at 9/10 I was reading books that were in my family book shelf.
I’m sorry if this review isn’t all happy but I think it is important. Will it stop me reading books by Nicola No but I will now be wary of what’s coming next.
To me it’s not a light hearted word

Lively romp
Same old story: disillusioned woman meets grumpy, attractive, complcated man who turns out to be love of her life. Told in upbeat, better than average manner and with interesting detail along the way about free range turkey farming.

We loved this Nicola May story. Hope there will be another Hub series as we have listened to Cockleberry Bay and Ferry Lane Market series.

Is this really Nicola May?
Overuse of unnecessary bad language. Annoying use of 'bless' also. This wasn't a bad story, but has put me off listening/reading more from an author I've previously enjoyed.
