Summary

Patricia Fisher is about to find out that 52 is the perfect age for an adventure!

When her life is unexpectedly turned upside down, ginaholic housewife, Patricia, doesn’t react as most would. Instead, she empties the bank accounts and jumps on the first cruise ship available - it just happens to be the world’s largest and finest, the Aurelia.

Less than 24 hours later, the world throws her the next curveball and so begins a race against time to prove she’s not a killer.

She has help though:
Her butler - his perfect Downton Abbey accent and penchant for folding napkins correctly should be enormously helpful!
A pretty gym instructor - can balanced nutrition and perfect abs keep Patricia out of jail?

Her chances don’t look great, but in our most testing times, we truly find our inner strength. Join Patricia Fisher as she learns that you are never beyond discovering a new version of yourself. The world will always look a little different once you have seen it through Patricia’s eyes.

Fantastic introduction to the series!

I'd been reading the books out of order but they are still wonderful as a stand alone read. But this one starts off the Patricia Fisher books and explains how our wonderful sleuth became a sleuth. Her bravery and quirks are very endearing, as aren't we all a bit hesitant to jump into the deep end of the pool for the very first time taking a swim? Loved every minute of it!
The narrator holds the listener enthralled as she moves unerringly through each character, carrying you along for the ride so you never wonder who is actually speaking in the storyline. Well done!

Good story terrible narration

I enjoyed the content, a lighthearted murder mystery, but the narrator and her attempts at various accents was awful. As a person of colour I felt slightly embarrassed by her dreadful what was supposed to be Jamaican accent, it sounded Welsh!

enjoyable middle aged hoccum

an somewhat enjoyable piece of hoccum although most of the characterisation was a little over the top.The voice of the narrator was unfortunately much too light for most of the story. but it while away a Summer Sunday.

bright and entertaining

Bright, lively and so entertaining that the occasional factual errors can be ignored. The characters are distinctive and one can connect with them.
