About this listen

From the Sunday Times number-one best-selling author Lucinda Riley, The Missing Sister is the seventh instalment in the multimillion-copy epic series The Seven Sisters.

They’ll search the world to find her.

The six D’Aplièse sisters have each been on their own incredible journey to discover their heritage, but they still have one question left unanswered: who and where is the seventh sister?

They only have one clue - an image of a star-shaped emerald ring. The search to find the missing sister will take them across the globe - from New Zealand to Canada, England, France and Ireland - uniting them all in their mission to complete their family at last.

In doing so, they will slowly unearth a story of love, strength and sacrifice that began almost 100 years ago, as other brave young women risk everything to change the world around them.

The Missing Sister is the seventh instalment in Lucinda Riley’s multimillion copy epic series.

Absolutely a dream of a book

There is nothing I can say which is negative apart from….it ended!!

This not a book I’d usually go to but I fancied something different.
I’m glad that I did.

I can’t wait the next book to arrive and follow the story.

There were times I cried and times I laughed. Thankfully I was alone or my family would have thought I was a crazy person

And incredible story, highly recommend it

Good

I love Lucinda Riley’s books and this is also excellent, but the narration is poor and let it down, that is the first narrator, who seems to over emphasise the wrong words and drew me away from the story itself!

Not the best sister story

I enjoy most Lucinda Riley books but found this very tedious to read as simple every day happenings were repeated over and over. All I wanted was to get on with the story. I hesitated to give a three star preferring more dynamic leading characters and less refusal to get on with the truth. Mary was looking in to her past after all!

Intriguing and captivating

Cannot believe how well the story twists and turns and all the characters become so real.
I cannot wait for the story of Pa Salt.

Yup never wavy it to end!

I gave up with this series, felt it got too formulaic and repetitive and didn’t read 5&6 but decided I’d listen to this - and I’m so
Glad I did. Loved it - transported into the world of the sisters. The narration was spot on and brought it to life. Listen and be seduced by a wonderful storyteller who sadly is no longer with us.

Another fantastic book from my favourite author

As with all of Lucinda’s books, compelling storytelling. Highly recommend. Just after finishing the audio book I was totally shocked to learn of the author’s untimely death. How devastating for her family and friends. RIP.

Ends on a cliff hanger!

After enjoying all of the seven sisters books so far, I found this one took a while to really begin. However, once into the story proper I found it as interesting as all the others.
I feel a little shortchanged that the story has such a slow start and ends on such a cliffhanger, just as we were really getting into the thick of it! But then, it does ensure I am eagerly anticipating the final(?) part of the series all the way in the future of autumn 2022!!
I do wonder if the slightly misfitting filler at the beginning was by design, so as to enable two books to be written rather than just the one that the reader may have preferred? But in any case, I am looking forward to it and I’m sure there will be a new unexpected story to make up for it next year.

Wow!

To me this series seems to have got better and better, and this latest one is so deeply descriptive, sensitive and utterly believable. It’s a fascinating story.
The narration is almost perfect ( I did just wonder why Tigi’s accent was so strong - and tried to remember if it had been so in her own story and, if so, why…, so that’s probably my own issue!)
I was so sorry to hear of Lucinda Riley’s untimely passing, like most of her fans, I had no idea she was ill, and must pay tribute to the wonderful quality of her writing despite the challenges she must have faced.
I can hardly wait the 2 years to hear the final instalment- Pa Salt’s story - in the 8th book to be co-written by Lucinda’s son Harry!
