About this listen
‘A riveting read that skips along at pace. Illuminating and concerning, it lifts the lid on the tawdry world of Westminster powerbroking’ Tim Shipman, The Times
YOU THINK YOU LIVE IN A WORLD WHERE THE ELECTED ARE CHOSEN BY THE PEOPLE.
THINK AGAIN.
When Boris Johnson came to power in 2019, he did so with the largest Conservative majority since Margaret Thatcher. Rewriting the political map, he united a party and shattered Labour’s fabled red wall. And yet, just three years later, he was ousted by the same members who had once greeted his leadership so rapturously.
What had gone so wrong?
The Plot is the seismic, fly-on-the-wall account of how the saviour of the Conservative Party became a pariah. Told with unparalleled access, from multiple inside sources talking with astonishing candour, it reveals the shocking truth about powerful forces operating behind the scenes in the heart of Westminster and those who became the architects of a Prime Minister’s downfall.
This is the story of a damning trail of treachery and deceit fuelled by an obsessive pursuit of power, which threatens to topple the very fabric of our democracy.

The people controlling the Tiries
I am not a "political" person, but was interested in this story by Nadine. I am shell shocked at what goes on in the Conservative party and beyond. The skullduggery (I can hear Boris using that word) is beyond comprehension how MP's and Ministers look down on us plebs to suit their own "needs" This book is a must read, even if you are like me and are looking to rwad yiur 1st political book.
Thank you Nadine and Boris.

Interesting but no need for constant swearing and use of F***
Whether true or more social media one does not know.
It would have been useful to be told who was Dr No!
Overhaul very good if not too slanted to her own cause and fame.

Absolutely shocking!
How shocking and sad that British politics, media and parts of the Civil Service standards have slipped so low

Everyone should read this - it’s horrifying
Absolutely terrified for the future of this country. Totally believe what Nadine Dorries wrote. Shocked to the core as a lifelong Conservative voter.

Not read by the author
Even Boris Johnson cared enough for the reader to read the whole of his 900 odd pages but Dorine could not be bothered which was a pity because it adds a taste of authenticity and a bond between the author and reader. Not as revealing as made out in the blurb

Very Concerning
I agree with others who find it slightly odd. It is written in the style of a chick lit novel, although supposed to be fact not fiction, with lots of superfluous details about teas and coffees etc
If it is true it is certainly an account that needed to be told, so that something can be done to rectify the situation. It is already well known that the government is full of corruption and run by ‘the blob’ (the civil servants) not the MPs, so it is believable but just far worse than we already thought.

If it’s true, it’s scary!!
Quite a shocking read, if it’s all true. Nadine is a massive friend to Boris so thus may well be biased. However the scheming is very believable and after googling some information I have found it to be very credible
