About this listen
Random House presents the unabridged downloadable audiobook edition of The Power of Meaning by Emily Esfahani Smith, read by Mozhan Marno.
There is a myth in our culture that to find meaning, you have to travel to a distant monastery or wade through dusty volumes to figure out life's great secret. The truth is there are untapped sources of meaning all around us: right here, right now. Drawing on the latest research in positive psychology; on insights from George Eliot, Viktor Frankl, Aristotle, the Buddha and other great minds, Emily Esfahani Smith identifies four pillars upon which meaning rests: belonging, purpose, storytelling and transcendence.
She also explores how we can begin to build a culture of meaning into our families, our workplaces and our communities.
Inspiring and full of contemporary examples, The Power of Meaning will strike a profound chord in anyone seeking a richer, more satisfying life.

Don't even think twice about it...
This is simply an outstanding book. Started with Man's Search for Meaning, and this book provides very strong additional and complimentary research references. If struggling with Meaning/purpose then highly recommended.

Enlightening
I really enjoyed this book, it is packed with so many information, revelations and aha moments for me. Highly valuable lessons and stories. I highly recommend this book, is not a general self help/pseudo philosophical, it is a compelling story full of fact and opportunities to self analysis.

amazing story telling skills
If I would rate the book after each chapter, I would go for 5 stars each time. The book has amazing storytelling skills and it shows indeed the importance of storytelling in soothing our pain. As a person who struggled with depression for some time of my life I understand that joy is not enough to cope with that, but changing the narrative and finding meaning in struggle is a more powerful way to navigate my way through it. This book is absolutely mind-blowing.

It will provide you with many different perspectives!
I have this book for more than 3 years now. The first time I've listened to it it brought me some very interesting ideas to ponder. Today I've finished it again and it was worth it. It made me think about my life in the past, since I've last listened to the book, from my experiences. It's a good book, with interesting stories and a pleasent narrator.
