Baskerville Book Reviews
I really hate the ending of this book. Not only is it insultingly lazy to reuse the same ending in 4 of 5 books, but it’s also the second time where it doesn’t even make logical sense. Due to some plot contrivance, a character needs to show up and confront the protagonists with a gun, only to be disarmed immediately. Proving for the fourth time now that the characters were never in any hint of danger, removing any tension the scene could have possibly had…. again!
I really, really want to give this book a do not read rating based on the ending alone. The only thing preventing me from doing so is the mystery. I enjoyed it quite a bit, more than the others for sure and I wish it was a longer novel for that reason.
The audiobook narrator does an excellent job of doing voices and bringing characters to life.
