Summary
"In this house we believe that: Black Lives Matter, Love Is Love, Gay Rights Are Civil Rights, Women’s Rights Are Human Rights, Transgender Women Are Women".
You may have seen signs with some of these messages in your neighborhood. They offer us an all-or-nothing package deal - in short, a secular creed. In this provocative audiobook, Rebecca McLaughlin helps us disentangle the beliefs Christians gladly affirm from those they cannot embrace, and invites us to talk with our neighbors about the things that matter most. Far from opposing love across difference, McLaughlin argues, Christianity is the original source and firmest foundation for true diversity, equality, and life-transforming love.

A Critical and Sensitive Response
Rebecca approaches this work with historical and contemporary perspectives and research that support and clarify God's design for the world and humanity. We are a world of hurting and suffering people. There are more manifestations and expressions of individual suffering than ever and, sadly, our society is more than ever on the bandwagon of "Do whatever you think will make YOU feel better in the moment." This rather than being willing to sit with people in their suffering. The dismissive attitude of the church has played a key role here and this book has a message for followers of Christ that is so needed. Hard topics, but the hope of Christ is the prominent piece in guide to driving manual rather than automatic. Thank you for being willing to help us learn!

A must read
A must read for anyone wanting to contend seriously for the faith that was delivered once for all to the saints, or, on the flipside, for anyone who is mystified by the biblical approach to these issues and is open to spending time to understand what that approach is. Clearly written following extensive research and much deep thinking, but also with compassion and love for those who don’t share the Christian perspective. Highly recommend.

Fantastic Book
This book was exactly what I needed. So many books just throw information at you. This book is not just information, but an action plan.

A very compassionate book.
An interesting take on the current complex issues, topics that often end up with people shouting. I was pleased to listen to the calm take from a compassionate person.

Rebecca's authenticity
I guess the only problem with the book is that the stats relate to the US, but the issues are relevant to the UK as well even though we may not have the placards outside our homes.
