About this listen
Pilot Jake Silver is haunted by a cruel irony — he secretly suspects that he’s the reason Swede Bergstrom, the hero who saved his life, has fallen on hard times. Upon learning that Swede has been killed during the commission of a crime, the guilt-driven Jake too-willingly agrees to follow Swede’s mysterious and beautiful sister, Christina, on a search to clear her brother’s name. Their odyssey takes them from the canyons of Manhattan to the heart of darkness itself, enlisting the help of colorful characters and dodging death every step of the way.
But is the alluring Christina the loving sister she appears to be, or evil incarnate? The body of a woman discovered in Jake’s East Side apartment and her killer’s ritualistically brutal M.O. lead NYPD homicide cop Pat Garodnik to suspect the latter.
Combining his efforts with those of Jake’s mother — a former DA with enemies on both sides of the law — the pair embark on an odyssey of their own, going to any lengths necessary, legal or otherwise, to find the truth and save Jake before his time runs out.
Literary and atmospheric, Dom Stasi’s debut thriller will have you listening late into the night with its high-flying action and intriguing mystery. As answers continue to be uncovered, the final pieces of the puzzle are as shocking as they are satisfying.

Quite a ride
If you plug your headphones on to listen to this then I'd plan a long journey as I don't think you'll want to stop listening. It has a fast pace and starts at what should be the end, well the end of one of the characters and you get to know him pretty well. I'm not normally one to enjoy listens with multiple narrators but this story lends itself very well to this type of production. Great listen

From deep in the sea to high In the sky
You better buckle up and hold on tight because this adventure is going to take you deep to the bottom of the sea and flying high In the sky as the mystery tries to get solved. The story is told by several characters from the mother looking for her missing son to the son looking for the kidnapped girl, so the story does jump around a bit but with so much going on in the book it would have been impossible to have it told by only one person. Especially as they each hold different clues to solving the murders. This is a lot more than a suspense novel and covers many areas from drug running, to time during a war, to murder, to kidnapping and all of while you are never sure who to trust and with lots of twists you aren't even sure how it is going to end and who will make it.
Jake a pilot is distressed to learn the man who saved his life, Swede, has been killed while In the commission of a crime. Then his sister turns up asking for his help, the authorities won't tell her what happened and won't even let her see his body. Agreeing to help her sets into motion something that will change his life. She isn't the only one looking for answers and Jake gets caught in the middle. Back home the young lady he was seeing is brutally murdered in his bed only hours after he left it and with Jake caught on camera breaking in to a morgue where another body is found the police start taking a closer look at Jake. His mother knows he is innocent and starts looking into the flight that killed his friend or more importantly what he was carrying on his plane at the time of the crash. With the authorities giving her the run around she turns to the detective looking in to death of the woman from Jake's apartment. Can all three of them work out why Swede had to die and clear his name? And will all three of them live long enough to piece the clues together?
I like the narrator he does a good job of keeping a long book interesting the whole way through.

Tense
Excellent listen starts with the prologue which is when "Swede" Bergstrom crashes his plane, he has been doing private work since leaving the forces and did he crash on purpose or was it sabotaged? Christina his sister contacts Jake Silver and asked for help in clearing her brother's name and also wants his body, and Jake being Jake thought he owed Swede as he once saved his life so embarks on a quest with Christina. Jake is about to have his own demons because, at the same time, he goes off there is a body found in his East Side apartment and by the time the police get involved Jake and Christine are well on their journey to rectify Swede's name and if he was killed or went down on purpose? Jakes's mother a former D A gets involved because a mother's son does not commit murder or does he? A thrilling and tense listen the narration was excellent, and I think there could be another Jake Silver episode somewhere down the line but fear not this story does have an ending, so the listener is not left wondering.

great book wrong narrator
I really enjoyed the book, good story, lots of excitement ,fast paced loaded with action ,air planes in the tropics but.... who picked this narrator, ill give him that he is good with his accents but the flow is so wrong ,it was brutal to listen to, he would be a gpod pick for drama or children story . this book needs to be reread buy Nick Sullivan, Kyle Tate ...
