Awesome

Although the first of a series this book stands alone so does not end with a cliff hanger. Brilliantly written and Frank's reading is as usual outstanding.

The narrator does grow on you

Narrator was annoying at first, but now I look for more books with him narrating. The Talisman is a good story. Gets a bit convoluted in my opinion. Wolf is definitely the star of the book.

Narrator stopped me from enjoying this.

I have several friends who love King like I do and said this is one of his books you must read. Maybe I should have took their advice and done that instead of getting the audible version of it. My friends tell me the story is gripping and their are some nods to other King works.
I had high hopes but I just did not really enjoy this listen and was waiting for it to end. The narrator has a way of making the end of each sentence sound snake like to me. odd I know but I could not deal with it.
I will read this book next time but never listen to it again.
On a final note. I was unable to finish moby dick on audible quite a while ago. I recently noticed it was narrated by the same guy. Now I wonder if that was why it became a dnf.

brilliant book, terrible narrator

😀😀 why did Clint Eastwood do the narration, totally ruined it, luckily story so good it is still worth listening to, never checked who narrators are before as normally very good but will be checking in future!!!!!

Excellent story, well narrated.

I last read this book 30 years ago and really enjoyed revisiting it agian. The story and writing are both excellent. Lots of reviews complain about the narration but I found that to be first class as well, really adding to the listening experience.

Just Brilliant. Didn’t want it to end

Wow what a story. Just makes you live this character. Generates an incredible mix of emotions. I just wanted the story to keep going but ultimately it came to a natural and excellent end. Left me smiling. Frank Muller was the right man for this story and is a true example of his talent and is sadly missed. I understand Stephen Spielberg and the Duffer brothers (Stranger Things) have plans to make this into a Netflix series. Done well this could be truly brilliant.
