About this listen

Banished, alone, adrift. A new beginning.

Long Wu Ying has been banished from the Verdant Green Waters Sect for defying the orders of the Elders. Forced to prove himself in the outer world before he is allowed to return, Wu Ying begins a journey that will have him visiting old haunts and a new kingdom.

Amidst new cultivators, new politics, and new challenges, Wu Ying must find the center of his dao and rise to the challenge.

Or be forgotten on the steps to immortality.

The Third Kingdom is the seventh novel in the A Thousand Li series, a book on immortal cultivation, wondrous martial arts, evil cultivation sects, and spirit beasts. This series will be loved by those searching for wuxia, xianxia, and progression fantasy works and those looking for a more westernized cultivation story. The Third Kingdom is written by Tao Wong, the best-selling sci-fi and fantasy LitRPG author of the System Apocalypse, Adventures on Brad, and the Hidden Wishes series.

Tao Wong's series is one of my favourites and this book only adds to it.
The book is a bit different than the usual ones, think murder mystery cultivation style. I really enjoyed the story. The world building is brilliant, the new kingdom is described excellently, the characters are well written, all have depth. The narration was top notch, as always.

I do wish the story was longer though.
Waiting for the next installment.

Great Addition to the Series

Not sure about this book I've loved the series overall and while this doesn't ruin anything its a bit dull, he finally progress's but that's at the start the book is pretty short and isn't my thing thematically

A murder mystery side story

Little story, character or cultivation progression, which is what I expect and like. A somewhat dragged out detective story, it could have been done faster and made more progression instead. A little disappointed, I hope there story gets deeper and not a lot of random events.

Ok but a bit empty

I love the series and will continue to read it, but this was probably my least favourite of the bunch. More of a murder story than anything else, it was decent enough though not really what I came for. Still worth getting through if you enjoyed the previous books!

Interesting but not really my cup of tea
