Summary

It is said that the practice of dream yoga deepens our awareness during all our experience: the dreams of the night; the dream-like experience of the day; and the bardo experiences after death. Indeed, the practice of dream yoga is a powerful tool of awakening, used for hundreds of years by the great masters of the Tibetan traditions.

Unlike in the Western psychological approach to dreams, the ultimate goal of Tibetan dream yoga is the recognition of the nature of mind or enlightenment itself. "If we cannot carry our practice into sleep," Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche states, "if we lose ourselves every night, what chance do we have to be aware when death comes? Look to your experience in dreams to know how you will fare in death. Look to your experience of sleep to discover whether or not you are truly awake."

About the author: Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche is a lama in the Bön tradition of Tibet. He is the founder and director of Ligmincha International, an organization dedicated to the study and practice of the teachings of the Bön tradition. He was born in Amritsar, India, after his parents fled the Chinese invasion of Tibet and received training from both Buddhist and Bön teachers, attaining the degree of Geshe, the highest academic degree of traditional Tibetan culture. He has been in the United States since 1991 and has taught widely in Europe, North and South America, and Asia.

A bit complicated

I found it difficult and complicated audiobook with many terminology that need to be understood. I think it is a good book but it is better to have a proper read instead of the audiobook.

Way more than I hoped for

There is so much substance in this book that it will require a re-run multiple times, but I do not mean this as a bad thing. It is a complete guide.

A Welcome Practice to Dream

You will never dream the same again! This book enlightens your mind and heightens your experience of the temporal sphere of light (the source / nothingness) - which we experience in the next layer of our perception. As we move along our journey from birth to death, the practices of mindful meditation may help us to see that which is right in front of us. The non-duality of the source.

Interesting

Really liked the practical side as well as the theoretical, well written and motivational. Although I will admit that I’ll have to revisit this one (probably more than once) to fully appreciate it.
