Flipping heck. This has got to be one of my favourite Lauren Blakely books. The story is signature LB. Fun, flirty and of course sexy. The trope is forbidden romance, or is it a secret affair? A little bit of both, with an added 15 year age gap in the mix. All this adds to the excitement, and the addictiveness, and to the emotions playing out throughout. I loved it. Layla meets sexy businessman Nick while attending a conference. Sparks fly, and before you know it the deed is done. They both go their separate ways until they can’t stand it any longer, and months later they arrange a meeting. Things rapidly go downhill when they discover they have one very special person in common. The audio version is, as is always the case with LB and her faithful narrators, utter perfection. Teddy Hamilton and Vanessa Edwin shine throughout, ensuring the listener is captivated by both the characters and their story. Quite a lot of naughty with this nice, I wanted their story to last forever. On that note, the audio was nearly 10 hours, and FYI, I could have listened to these two narrate LB’s words for another 10 hours. Utter bliss,

Teddy Hamilton and Vanessa Edwin were a match made in Audiobook heaven. Both narrators portrayed the character’s brilliantly picking up all the nuances and personality traits Lauren tried to convey when writing the story.

Another amazing book from Lauren Blakely, I loved it so much! Layla and Nick are perfect together, and their journey toward each other felt so real. The struggles both were dealing with, the tension and pull between the two, it all made me swoon and feel so much! The book touches on some very serious topics, without ever feeling too heavy. It had a great balance between love and life.

I listened to the audiobook and both narrators did such a great job, I just couldn't stop listening to them. But what else do you expect from Vanessa Edwin and Teddy Hamilton? They definitely lifted the story to and even higher level with their performance!

this was a good read loved itm I dint find it taboo at all. loved the relationship between the main characters as well as the side characters. I especially loved that there was no unnecessary drama .

This is one of the best LB books ever; a veritable ode to love! There's so much beautiful, gentle, affirming love in this story, it blew me away. Plus, there's a pretty decent dose of the hot stuff! Spectacular Teddy Hamilton and Vanessa Edwin -- just wow!

I couldn't get enough of this book! It's like it was written specifically for me, hitting all my buttons. Intense insta-connection - check, Forbidden Age Gap - check, Insanely hot older guy taking care of his woman to give her the best first time ever - check. Oh, and just throw in the wonderful pairing of Vanessa Edwin and Teddy Hamilton to narrate...yep, its official this is my favourite MF Lauren Blakely EVER!

The story is delightful. Who doesn't want to get swept up in a scorching hot night in Miami as sharp and sassy business woman Layla goes after what she wants, and that happens to be sexy and driven successful business man Nick Adams, the fill in key note speaker for the conference she is attending. Sparks fly after what was supposed to be their one night tryst and it is so electric you will need to take your headphones off so you don't get electrocuted!

The delicious tension and longing is palpable throughout the story as they can't get each other out of their head and is only made worse when they reconnect, only to discover one major obstacle. Nick's son just happens to be Layla's ex and and now dear friend. This is a beautiful love story as you slowly discover Layla's tragic past and the way Nick supports her is amazing. This is a true feel good romance, it makes you want to believe that there is a love like this waiting for you out there, if you are not already lucky enough to have found it. And a reminder to grab it and fight for it at all costs.

I love the group of friends Layla has around her and the way Lauren is able to vividly bring to life the cities that she loves and allows me to escape there. This time it is New York and she makes me yearn to travel there myself.

As I said Vanessa Edwin and Teddy Hamilton always impress me but this time there is an extra level of chemistry and some truly beautiful acting from Vanessa in some difficult chapters half way through when we hear about Layla's past. Haunting, and made me cry something fierce.

All in all, I love a forbidden age gap, but one with this much heart is rare to find. I love this book.

can we all just agree that David is one of the best characters in this book? don't get me wrong, I love and adore Layla and Nick, but David tho😌 and the forbidden romance trope??? YES PLEASE 🙏😍🙌
side note: Teddy Hamilton is not one of my favorite narrators, but him as Nick hit different for real
