Summary
He'll make sure she never wants to leave....
Holly never thought she'd move back to her hometown, but then something terrible happened. She doesn't know if she can recover. But she knows she can never tell another soul.
People say her neighbour, David, is 'different'. He doesn't go out much, and never after dark. But in David, Holly finds just what she needs: a friend. Someone who's always there.
No-one knows Holly's secret or where she lives. She has left the past behind. She is sure of it. So why does she feel as though she's in terrible danger?

The Visitor
This was OK crime thriller, but rather unbelievable and far fetched at times. The character of David was written as though he was autistic, but it was never explicitly stated.

Gripping Psychological thriller
very well read by the narrator and never expected the ending. I have enjoyed all of K.L. Slaters books and can't wait to read any future books.

Saved by the Narrator
This book only started to interest me when I got to Chapter 40. Two thirds of the book laboriously develops characters for whom I had little empathy in order to prepare for the reveal of the final third which develops at pace.
The narration enhanced this book and was the only reason I stuck with it until the end.

Just enough of everything and an easy and compelling listen. Loved the unexpected ending. My favourite by KL Slater I think.

The Visitor
As great a read as ever. KL Slater always delivers. Another fabulous story with twists and turns right to the last chapter.
Highly recommend. Looking forward to reading/listening to another KL Slater.

Good story, great narration
Storyline was good, the characters believable and quite intriguing. However, it was quickly obvious that Holly wasn’t pining for lost love but was missing her son.
There were a few situations that were frustrating, and extremely unlikely. What spoiled it for me was the fact that the millionaire couple couldn’t pay for a surrogate without all the nonsense of imprisoning a girl they knew so little about, risking her hurting herself out of desperation, drugging her, etc.
It makes no sense whatsoever as surrogacy would have been so much simpler 🤷🏼♀️ that reallyy ‘soured’ things for me, and left me a bit disappointed. I have found most of K.L Slater books quite believable, that is what makes them so interesting. This one however was a bit hard to digest.

Boring!
Even at 1,3 x speed, it simply never manage to grip me. Almost nothing happens throughout the entire book. I kept on waiting for just ONE little clue about what happened in everyone’s past? Simply not enough. Our lives are too fast to schlep through this one.
