About this listen

A Warhammer Horror audio drama.

A ship becalmed in space needs repairs. Fortunately, a nearby watch station offers refuge. Surely nothing can go wrong for the crew of the Fortune's Favour?

Listen to it because: Atmospheric, tense, terrifying...it's an audio experience tailor-made to chill you, and from the opening drama to the tense conclusion, you'll be on the edge of your seat.

The story: In the midst of a vast gas nebula lies a remote watch-station, hanging silently against a tapestry of dying stars. It sits alone, patiently awaiting lost travellers adrift in the freezing vastness of the void. To such souls it appears as a blessing, a safe haven from the warp storms that wrack the immaterium and destroy the ships of those foolish enough to test the tides.

To Captain Arq and her crew, it is one thing - refuge. But things are never so simple.

Written by Rachel Harrison. Running time approx. 77 minutes. Performed by Grace Andrews, Steve Conlin, Matthew Hunt, Jonathan Keeble, Carla Mendonca, Colleen Prendergast, David Seddon and David Sibley.

great book that makes you wonder about what's lurking in the dark. some really good atmospheric ambient sounds makes you feel like you are there tagging along.
My only complaint is i wish it was longer, could have listened to a few more chapters easily enough

really is the dark dark future

A nice spooky tale that's well performed and features a Narrator, which means the dialogue isn't just characters explaining what their seeing.

Wish this was more common in Black Library audio books.

Emperor be praised it has a narrator!

Surprisingly good.
Not much to tell, interesting setting, good piece of horror and an great example of the grimdark concept.

Nice little story

I’d rate this a 10/10, the performances were fantastic, which is what I expected from a cast such as this, everyone of them gave an amazing performance. The story was great, hooked me from the very beginning and gave me chills the entire way through. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone who loves Warhammer 40K or horror.

10/10 I just wish it was longer.

Excellent

The story has its elements of horror and dread, but the end it's a classic "to be repeated".
if it was longer maybe it had a good ending, but at least the start was very good.
It has elements of schizophrenia, egomaniac, zeolite that combine with the characters very well.
The atmosphere doesn't need pictures, being represented by the environment sounds very well.
In conclusion it's a good horror but falls short due to it's "to be repeated" end

A short and not that powerful horror

Enjoyed all of it. Worth listening to.
I enjoyed all the voice actors and the ambient background noises

Multiple voice actors

The production value and voice acting is great, also, as a short, self contained story it runs its course very smoothly.
I think a tad more time to flesh out the ship would have been nice, allowing us to get a feel for the crew on board.
The Deadspace comparisons are well founded, especially since the Enginseer's voice was practically the voice of the Ishimura control systems.

Short but Sweet, just a tad too short

As a set of 3 chapters combined. It makes one hell of a book overall. It is well written and just as well performed.
Worthy of your time and money easily and then some. With twists and turns a maze would be proud of.
It's only a short story but is worth your time and investment.
Sorry if this review is a little vague I really do not want to give any spoilers whatsoever out,
just trust me and the Emperor...all will be well.
Just switch on your audio device in a dim room with some snacks and a warm drink, then ENJOY ! 🤗.
REMEMBER THE EMPEROR PROTECTS...HAVE FAITH.

RACHEL HARRISON and cast at their very Best !!
