Mediocre
Half way through now and bored. Lots of different people telling stories about Lee but 4 hours in and it’s become very repetitive, once you’ve heard one story you’ve heard them all.

Love him or Hate him - he was Legendary
A great overall book - which gives you an amazing insight into the life life of a street phenom.
When you’re from a council estate I’ve always said you somehow relate more to these types of books and I say this just because of the street life that awaits you as soon as you open the door. Lee was battered physically and emotionally at such a young age - which as a child is what shapes you. At home behind closed doors, his father used to inflict beatings on him so much the neighbours would here his screams. He used to watch his mother get beat up constantly while his father was in a drunken rage. You can’t help but feel empathy towards his younger years. This book paints a picture and I really relates to some parts of the stories on hearing about his early life. I can’t help but have a sense of respect for Lee - yes he caused some people misery, yes he saved the day for others, but clearly he felt like a powerless little boy from not being able to defend himself to watching his mum get thrown out of windows and something within him wanted to beat those bigger looking people. He’s a very intriguing fella and if you want more information then I can’t recommended this book enough. The Duffer was without doubt a one of. R.I.P

Touching account
Wasn’t expecting to enjoy this so much, the whole book is taken from a place of balance good and bad warts and all. Highly recommended

A bit repetitive
You get the point after a few chapters, Lee duffy massive bully, loved a scrap, got himself stabbed n died for being a sh*thouse. Can tell a lot of work went into this book but its the same old story right the way thru to be honest. Also Lee duffy sounded like a horrible human being, rotten to the core - anyone who can claims he wasnt is just a fan boy... nobody who goes about beating folk up for fun is a decent person. Deserved all he got in the end right down to taxi drivers not wanting to pick him up when he was dying because of who he was.

Gripping and interesting
I thought this book was put together very well, highlighting both the good and the not so great aspects of Lees life. They say that there wont ever be another like Lee and listening to these accounts I truly believe that. His confidence, strength and temper put fear in me 30 odd years on. I cant imagine what It would have been like to know him, see him or be a mate of his. To knock out bouncers who are fighting men themselves on his own is a feat few if any can match and he did it weekly if not daily. I hold no judgment over Lees choices but I do wish that he was still around because I do think he would be now a strong advocate against violence like his mate Brian Cockerill. RIP Lee.
