Summary

From the Amazon charts best-selling author of The Silent Wife and The Woman I Was Before, The Woman in My Home is a gripping listen about family secrets and lies.

Finally, Cath has met someone: a man she loves, Robin, and who adores her in return. And after years of managing fine on her own, running a successful business, raising her son and caring for her elderly mother, she feels she deserves some happiness.

She expected everyone to be delighted for her. But her friends and family are suspicious of Robin. And Rebecca, a desperate single mother whom Cath has hired as a live-in housekeeper, doesn’t trust him either. He’s too slick, he’s too perfect and it all happened too fast. How well does Cath really know him?

Cath is used to taking care of herself; she’s nobody’s fool. But when things start to go wrong in the house that’s been her haven for all these years, she’s forced to ask herself whether the man she loves is really what he seems…and having let Rebecca in to every part of her life, is Cath ready to face the secrets she might find there?

Ok

Nothing fundamentally wrong with either the book nor the narration, I think I just need a break from such characters and behaviour.

Gripping

My first experience of this author, but do not think it will be my last. The way Fisher builds the characters within The Woman in My Home was wonderful. The way she demonstrates the subtleties that can exist in abusive relationships touched me. The story moved me with the power of strong women!

lovely story

Having a MS I find it difficult to physically read a book so audio books are a lifeline to me.

Which is why I read so many.

I really enjoyed this story and dreaded it coming to an end which is why reading it again was not a chore for me.

I really liked this story and would definitely recommend it.

It was the first time I had read a book by this author and definitely would again.

Loved it

I have read all of Kerry Fishers books and love her style of writing. I had to keep listening to this one as I was so cross and frustrated with Kath !!! Emma’s narration was spot on and as another listener has commented “soothing”. Can’t wait for the next book. I strongly advise people to go and read Kerry Fisher’s other books, they all have a bit of substance, it’s so refreshing not to be able to work out the ending by the end of the second chapter.

Love this author

I've lost count of the books I've listened to from Kerry Fisher, she has a brilliant very real way of depicting the love and confusion that comes with families and friendships. This has an element of the tinder swindler which I also loved. The plot was quite clear early on but this isn't bad, in fact it shows how clear dangers can be to outsiders but we make every excuse when fuelled with the endorphins of love.
Emma Spurgeon has narrated all of Kerry's books I've heard so far and I really like her tone and ability to give a different believable feel to each character. For me it wouldn't be a Kerry Fisher audio book without her narration.

A great listen

A new author to me. At first to thought this was a cliche story of a woman who gets scammed by a man. But a twist in the tale kept me listening daily for more. I loved the narration too which is important for audiobook story telling. Nice change to have a audiobook free from screeching and whining voices.

My favourite Kerry Fisher book to date

Absolutely loved this book! Kerry Fisher writes so beautifully, she builds the characters with such care and the storyline was brilliant! I love the narrator’s voice, it’s really soothing. Just a bit of a shame that some sentences’ ends have been cut off a bit too soon.
I really loved listening to this book and I have to say, it kept me up late at night, because I was just so invested in finding out what happens next. I loved all the characters! Off to buy another Kerry Fisher book to listen to, please keep writing Kerry, you are amazing, so talented and I love your books!

Slow to get going but picked up later

Predictable in many ways but still held my attention and I kept listening over several hours to get to the end. Finished in short time frame which is always a good sign. I would read others by this author. Sometimes difficult to work out who the focus of chapter was on because narration was same throughout

Binge worthy

Another fantastic read from Kerry Fisher. I didn’t want to stop listening! Could there be a sequel? I do hope so!
