Max & Rachel & Rye

3.95 stars

This book was just so funny!!! Rachel was one strong woman that did not take any sh1t from anyone. After finding herself a stalker, she goes on the run and finds Bliss, Colorado - one special town like no other.
The twins Rye and Max have lived in Bliss all their lives so, just like them, the quirks of the town’s residents are no surprise. All three are quite the funny throple. Their shenanigans had me in stitches but I wish the book had been written in 1st person POV. I fell I would have had more of a connection with the characters but this is just my preference.
Lee Samuels as both Max and Rye was terrific; Kitty Bang as Rachel took me a little while to get used to but in the end I loved her.

I loved this book

I only discovered Lexi Blake recently and I have become a big fan! I made my discovery thanks to some of her books being included in Audible membership, in essence they were free! This book is the opening of what is promising to be an excellent series chartering the lives of Bliss inhabitants & those who find themselves there. I cannot wait to get started on the next installment just as soon as I've finished writing this review!

Narration is also excellent.

Steamy!

I’ve been a fan of Lexi Blake/Sophie Oak for years. However, it’s been a while since I picked up one of her books and read/listened which I don’t understand why because her books are addictive, they are like drugs, you read one and you need more and more and this book was the same. I couldn’t stop listening. I was up all night listening and got very little sleep but I have zero regrets!

Three To Ride is about Identical Twins Ryan and Maxwell and these boys love to share everything, especially women. They’ve realised that it may be time to have separate relationships and have separate girlfriends… mainly for their families' sake… but that doesn’t last long when they both meet a girl who has them falling head over heels!

Rachel (Liz) is on the run from a psycho stalker cop when her car breaks down in a small town called Bliss. She doesn’t have much money and needs a job so she can get back on the run from her stalker. She gets a job at a small diner and it doesn’t take long for the people in town to welcome her with open arms and she starts getting to know people. I adored Rachel so much. She was so strong, resilient, independent and beautiful woman and you get to see so much growth in her throughout the book.

Rachel and Max meet first and their connection and chemistry was intense, to say the least. Everyone knows Max as hard, rough and somewhat closed off, but when Rachel comes into his life, that all changes and she’s able to bring out a softer side of him. Ryan is the complete opposite of Max. He’s a ladies' man, he’s confident, he’s charming, handsome and is also the sheriff of the quirky small town of Bliss when Rachel realised that she needs and so badly wants them both and that they are what will give her the confidence not to keep running away from her messy past.

Ryan and Max may be twins but they couldn’t be any more different, but it’s obvious that they’ve got a bond like no other… when they try and do things separately, it just doesn’t work. They need each other and then you add in Rachel, and it was like she was the missing piece! The author did not shy away from the spice in this.

I loved this small town so much! It was so funny to read and so unique, quirky and different. You have a moose that visits the townspeople, a nudist colony, a mountain man who thinks aliens exist and so much more. It had me laughing so much!

Lexi Blake is and always will be an amazing author I know I can pick up one of her books and not even look at net blurbs and already know I’m going to love the story. The plot was engaging. It was extremely well written and easy to lose yourself in the story and fall in love with every character you meet.

An Entertaining Town

3.5/5⭐️ rounded to 4. Three to Ride by Lexi Blake is the first book in the Nights in Bliss, Colorado series, which was originally published in 2010. This is a why choose cowboy romance/romantic suspense novel about Rachel Swift, a woman on the run from a stalker. Her car broke down driving into the town and due to the kindness of the residents of this quirky small town, Rachel found herself with a tow and repair from the local garage and a job at the local cafe. Nearly out of money, she decided to stay for a short time when she met Max Harper. She decided to indulge in a short fling with the sexy cowboy even after she discovered that he had an equally sexy twin who was the town Sheriff. Rachel distrusted law enforcement after her experiences trying to get help to stay safe from her stalker, but she soon discovered that Max’s twin brother, Ryan, was a really good man. She was riddled with guilt for feeling so attracted to her boyfriend’s brother. Ryan and Max Harper had always known that they wanted to share a wife, but after too many failed attempts to be more than a hot fling, they had decided to try to find happiness separately. When Rachel caught his eye, Max had already met her, and Ryan tried to control his jealousy and help Max navigate a relationship without him. Max was afraid that Rachel would never be willing to consider a relationship with both he and his brother and all three were struggling. Would they be able to find a way for all three to be happy or would their unconventional relationships or would they end up losing more than their hearts? I found the town of Bliss highly entertaining, filled with a variety of non-traditional residents including a colony of hairy nudists, a wealthy Dom, and the resident expert on aliens. This romantic suspense novel is filled with laughs, intensely hot chemistry, and a sweet story on the simpler side for this author. I was entertained, but it wasn’t my favorite book from her backlist. The narrator did a good job and it is definitely worth he listen. I am curious to see how the rest of the town residents receive their happily ever afters. I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after listening to an advanced complementary copy of this audiobook thanks to Valentine PR and DLZ Entertainment LLC.

Fun and Quirky!

This was such a fun and quirky book! Three to ride is a cowboy, MFM, small town, romantic suspense about a woman on the run from a stalker.

This book was action-packed and I liked the balance between spice and plot. I really liked the characters. I really liked Rachel’s personality and how both Max and Rye had individual attributes that made them perfect for Rachel. The chemistry between the three was electric and I really enjoyed this book.

Kitty Bang and Lee Samuels were amazing at narrating this book.

Blissfully Entertaining! Fabulous Story & Listen🎧

Wow, what a great ride, and an excellent start to the series and introduction to the town of Bliss and all its quirky residents. Rachel Swift is on the run from the man she said no to, he became her worst nightmare, a stalker, turned abuser. With some help, she took on this new identity and fled, never staying too long in one place. Down on her luck, low on cash, she finds herself stranded on a mountain road in Colorado after her tire blew out, but she gets help from the oddest of fellows, Mel, who took her to town and had her car towed. The town folk welcomed her with open arms and she got a job at the local diner and that is where she met Maxwell “Max” Harper. Max and his twin brother, Ryan aka Rye, share more than that twin bond, they like to share their women, too. They recently broke up with their last girlfriend, who wanted out of Bliss, and they thought they would try to have solo relationships out. Max is a grump known for his temper and everyone gives him a wide berth when he looks like he is on the verge. Rachel witnessed his unacceptable behavior, and put him in his place, turning him into a well behave puppy after that which surprised others. Max had it bad for Rachel, and he pursued her without Rye. but kept him in mind. Rachel is hesitant at first, she lost faith in men, the law and has trust issues, so she does not take too kindly to Rye, who is the town sheriff. It was great watching these three navigate a relationship, Max fall head over heels, Rye, pining at first, and then Rachel allowing herself to open her heart to love again. There is never a dull moment in this book, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. The story is entertaining and has the perfect balance of drama, angst, witty humor and dialogue, quirky and small town charm, some thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Lexi Blake, thank you for this fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧  Kitty Bang and Lee Samuels did a fantastic job bringing these characters and story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting and believable. You could hear how much heart they put into their performance as they capture all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration elevates the story to another level. Thank you for this fabulous listen.

Fun and sexy story

Lexi Blake (aka Sophie Oak) does romantic suspense like no other. I truly love the balance between spice and plot whenever I read any of her stories. There is never a dull moment when reading one of her books, but when it's an MFM story that involves twins...hang on tight for one heck of a ride. I love the angsty feeling we get with the brothers having a past relationship that has caused them to go solo. We also get this small issue of Rye being a cop which has Rachel on high alert. I love her attitude and the way she doesn't take any flack from anyone despite being out of her element and on the run. It is a medium burn but when things really get going, they don't slow down again. The world building is also on another level. I have never wanted to visit a fake town more than this one. I can't wait to read/listen to more of this series.

As for the audio portion, these two truly knocked it out of the park. While the story was already fun and exciting, the narration amped it up exponentially. Both narrators fit their perspective characters so well and it was no hardship listening to them for hours...good thing since I didn't want to turn this one off!
