About this listen
In Thrive, Arianna Huffington, the co-founder and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post and one of the most influential women in the world, has written a passionate call to arms, looking to redefine what it means to be successful in today’s world. She likens our drive for money and power to two legs of a three-legged stool. It may hold us up temporarily, but sooner or later we’re going to topple over. We need a third leg – a Third Metric for defining success – in order to live a healthy, productive, and meaningful life.
In this deeply personal book, Arianna talks candidly about her own challenges with managing time and prioritising the demands of a career and two daughters. Drawing on the latest groundbreaking research and scientific findings in the fields of psychology, sports, sleep and physiology that show the profound and transformative effects of meditation, mindfulness, unplugging and giving, Arianna shows us the way to a revolution in our culture, our thinking, our workplaces, and our lives.

Certainly an interesting read for people that are addicted to social media but structure and reference to research/theory fell below my expectations after listening to the introduction.
Books seems like a very personal story that I would find difficult to apply to my or other people's lives even though I can imaging people having the need to disconnect and seeing value in being reminded about this fact or getting a list of apps that stop you from checking email /social media.
I would recommend reading better structured books with clear exercises on specific topics that you would want to improve yourself. However I believe that writing about a third metric / self-awareness / work-life balance / living a less stressful live is an important first step to change the current mindset - and can be impactful if the message comes from someone as senior and commercially focused as the author.
Limited applicability/relevance

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I thought this would give good advice on work life balance. instead, a bunch of statistics and vaguely new age recommendations that lead nowhere. It touches on lots of subjects (meditation) that are much better covered elsewhere. this is a woman who beseeches us all to turn off our phones, but launches an app to help us do so. The narration is awful, the accent so thick that, if nothing else, its unintentionally funny at times (as she pronounces 'focus' as 'f**k -us). Buy '10% happier' instead.Would you ever listen to anything by Arianna Huffington again?
noWho might you have cast as narrator instead of Agapi Stassinopoulos?
Anyone who can speak englishCould you see Thrive being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?
