Summary

Barry Geraghty is an Irish horseracing legend. From his first win in 1997 he has gone on to ride almost 2000 winners, making him the fourth most accomplished rider of all time. With more wins at Cheltenham than any other jockey riding today, he has worked with all the greats – Moscow Flyer, Kicking King, Monty’s Pass. But while they have retired, he has kept on going …

But Barry is covered in scars. He has broken all of his limbs, his shoulders, his ribs, his nose. He has survived falls too numerous to recall, and spent most of 2019 with a metal cast on his leg. And yet, he keeps getting back on the horse.

This audiobook is about resilience, the mental power that enables the great to keep going despite the pain, despite the odds. It explores how Barry has developed the mind tools to continue to push himself, even when all seems lost.

Really enjoyed this book

Some wonderful racing memories here to enjoy as well as stories and insights into race & tactics... I love remembering the Moscow Flyer, Kicking King days. But what I enjoyed most was that it has more depth than most sporting/racing books, it delves into Barry’s journey as a person too and his growth and how he achieved it and has ended up a deeper and better person for it. The only thing I would have preferred is if Barry had narrated the book himself although it is well read. Enjoy!

Irish Racing Fan

Great to hear the jockeys side of the story. I've been in love with Nh racing all my life and followed most of the racing featured in this book. This is a must for racing fans everywhere. John.W
