About this listen

A difficult year filled with loss and heartache leaves Allison Scott withdrawn and emotionally disconnected. When she is finally ready to move forward with her life, she embarks on a getaway vacation to Miami, determined to find healing from the painful memories in her past. Damien Wales also has a tragic past that has left him a cold and distant person. However, the moment he sees Allison, he is inexplicably drawn to her, and Damien is a man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

When Damien's dark past begins to collide with his present, Allison's life is put in danger. Damien must keep her safe, but some things are simply beyond his control. Contains mature themes.

It’s a really good read from start to finish it had me hooked couldn’t wait for the second book. The only thing I would say say is I would have liked to hear more from the male narrator.

Enjoyed it

Great Read

So what I disliked about this book is that the only part the male narrates is the epilogue, I much prefer to hear a male whispering dirty words through my headphones than a female so felt a bit cheated that Nelson Hobbs (who is one of my favourite narrators) hardly narrated at all. The ending was also a huge cliffhanger and you have to buy the next two books which I won’t do because of the solo female narration so now I will never know. Having said that the female narrator was excellent just not my preference.

Misleading

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The voice over sounds terrible - the imitated male voices are very poor.

How could the performance have been better?

Better narrator

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Some points had you wanting to keep listening.
