Summary
Slade Cruz is a dick.
He’s intimidating, sexy as sin, and unpredictably wild. His eyes draw me in while his vicious smirk screams at me to run and never look back. I’m a toy to him, a pawn to use in his devilish games.
I’ve already suffered through hell and back, and if it’s games he wants, then it’s games he’ll get, but he should be warned: This time, it’s my turn to play the lead.
This time, I get to be the devil.
Aston Creek High was supposed to be my fresh start. This was my one shot at freedom, but he had other plans for me. Slade Cruz was never a part of my plan, but he sure as hell made me part of his. I thought I was through with fighting to survive, but it seems as though the games have only just begun.
Give it your best shot, Slade. I’m ready.

Audiobook obsession reviewer, flock reviewer
Im sitting here wondering how I can put into words just how much I loved this book, the characters are well written and fresh and the addition of the dark aspect made sure that this was a book that I could not put down. I loved the depth of this novel and the emotional response that it then brought out in me.
The narration increased the enjoyment that I felt as the narration brought out the characters emotions and their interactions.

Dark bully sport romance
Interesting story with Slade and Skylah, a romance that is twisted and that completely hooks you from the start. This new series started with a bang, I can't wait to know what happens next, that cliffy was amazing. I love bully romances and this one has it, the tug and pull between the characters was fantastic, and the chemistry and sexual tension were hot, there were some things that are a total cliché, but even then I actually enjoyed the story.

Skylah and Slade!
Everything that Skylah has been through in the past has only made her stronger and more determined to stand up for herself and her brother. Starting at a new school was supposed to be a new beginning however she has attracted the wrath of Slade, a popular basketball player, and the battle is on.
Slade has his reasons for ensuring that Skylah’s stay at Aston Creek is only temporary and he will do whatever is necessary to ensure that happens. Or at least that was the plan until Skylah proves to be his equal in every way.
The banter between them is entertaining and the chemistry between them is undeniable. You can only admire how Skylah has overcome her past and I loved how protective her and her brother Blake were of each other. Stephanie Kay was a great choice for the character as she had you connecting with the character and what she was going through. 🎧 Pink Flamingo Productions

Sheridan knows bully romance!
If you love bully romance then look up Sheridan Anne’s books, the woman knows how to catch a reader’s attention and capture it so that the world melts away. No really! You will be barricaded away trying to finish it and screaming at anyone who interrupts.😂
This is another amazing start to one of Stefanie’s series and it’s everything I have come to expect and love about her series.
Skylah and her brother Blake have had it rough from a very young age. Mainly Sky because she’s a young woman who’s had to grow up fast and be smart enough to stay away from the danger that lurks in her adopted home. Blake is treated like a prince but when Sky says she’s leaving and asks him to leave with her he goes!
They reunite with family they find and hope that they have left their past and dangers behind but can they really be safe again?
The new school is exciting for Blake but Sky isn’t keen. Yet she promises to try making friends. Enter Slade the prince of Aston Creek High and he’s got it out for her. She’s clueless as to what he has against her after all they just arrived there.
Skylah is a strong gal; just as I have come to expect in Sheridan’s books; and I loved her ‘get outta my way attitude’ there are so many things happening in this first instalment that had me on edge. I found it intriguing how the story would flip to the past to help see how everything happening now plays into it. Slade comes around towards the end of the first book but I don’t know how this story will turn out for all of them. The past is coming for Skylah and will the enlightenment of Slade’s parentage upend everything. I can’t wait to hear what happens next.
Stefanie Kay does all of the characters and is amazing at keeping them individualized with distinct voices and personalities. Her performances had me fully engaged and I am excited for the next book. Bring it on Stefanie, I’m rooting for Skylah to make it!

Sheridan Anne does it again!
Catching my attention from chapter one, Sheridan Anne has again started a series that I can't wait to sink my teeth into. Skylah and Blake are starting fresh, in a new town with their aunt and uncle. Sky is full of attitude, but if you had been through what she has, you too would be on the defensive. They think they are now out of danger, but that is far from the truth. Slade seems to have it out for Sky. The bully will make sure she isn't going to stay, and will run again. But when the truth is revealed, how will things change? So much is in this first installment of Skylah's story. The past is about to show it's evil colors, not only for Skylah and the results is going to be devastating. I Love Skylah's bravado! She certainly puts on a confidence that most of the time she feels, but we can feel her true heart and it's crying! Blake is a wonderful character, the best brother a person could ask for and Slade, well, he does show his true self. We just need to see how it all plays out. Bring it on Sheridan Anne, I am ready!
And to make this book even better, Stefanie Kay adds her storytelling to this and it brings it all to life. Kay has such an incredible array of voices, and she gets to know her characters, using the voice that suits them best. Adding in the emotions with gusto, she uses the voices to create a new world to get lost in and I was lost. Can't wait for book 2!

Simply brilliant!
Bully romances are my guilty pleasure, and Ugly Girl hit the bull's eye. It's a terrific start to the Aston Creek High series, a cleverly written mature high school bully romance. Sheridan Anne is the master of the high school romance genre. In Ugly Girl, she's created an intricate plot intertwined with layer upon layer of drama, mystery, uncertainty, heartfelt emotions, tension, angst, romance, heat, and so much more. The main characters are appealing, complex, involved, driven, and inspired by convoluted desires and emotions. Skylah is bold, fierce, and spirited, with a hard shell but scarred by a brutal past. Running off to her aunt's and going to a new school was supposed to give her a much-needed chance for a fresh start. But at every turn, she is confronted by those who don't want her in the school. Slade is constantly in her face; he is magnetic, attractive, intimidating, and self-assured, becomes Skylah's cruel tormentor.
The storyline is engaging and captivating, with unexpected twists. It does touch some sensitive subjects with potential triggers for some audiences. I'm super intrigued by the dynamics between Skylah and Slade, the tension is palpable, and the chemistry is simply tumultuous. I can't wait to find out what's in store for them. The secondary characters are great, especially Blake, Skylah's brother; I liked the easy banter between them. The ending is a very unexpected cliffhanger, and I can't wait to listen to the next instalment.
Outstanding narration by Stefanie Kay; her voice is ideal for Skylah's character. Furthermore, she did a marvellous job altering her tone for male characters. She definitely made the story come to life. Overall, Ugly Girl was a fabulous listen, one I'll highly recommend.

More Please! Fantastic Narration & Series Start!
Sheridan Anne continues to wow me with a fantastic start to another amazing series. Her books should come with a warning to “Be prepared to have your mind-blown”, because she is the master creator of mind-blowing stories and you can always expect the unexpected. This is a well written and brilliantly plotted story that grabs your attention and captivates it the entire time, it is hard to put down because you need to know what happens next. Skylah left a terrible home situation and took her brother Blake to go stay with their aunt. It is difficult being the new girl in a new school, but she was not expecting all the hate coming her way thanks to Slade Cruz who had it in for her the moment she stepped on school grounds. But Slade does not know who is dealing with, Sky had been thru enough in her short life, some may even say she has been to hell and back so Slade has another thing coming if he thinks she will bow down to him or his followers. There are a lot of layers to the story and there is plenty of drama, angst, mystery, twists and turns, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Sheridan Anne, thank you for this great story and start to another amazing series, I am looking forward to what happens next in Ashton Creek High.
🎧 📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Stefanie Kay is a mega talented narrator and a versatile voice artist who does an amazing job covering the roles for all the characters, giving each their own distinct sound, making it easy to follow along and tell how is who. She has a complete understanding of the characters she portrays, sounding believable in every role she plays. Her Skylar is absolute perfection, grasping every side of her personality from her strengths to her vulnerabilities. She nails it as Slade and is great at performing the roles of all the secondary characters too. Stefanie Kay sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all the character’s emotions and projects them into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to, her narration enhances this already brilliant story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.
