Football has come to the ancient city of Ankh-Morpork - not the old fashioned, grubby pushing and shoving but the new, fast football with pointy hats for goalposts and balls that go gloing when you drop them. And now, the wizards of Unseen University must win a football match, without using magic, so they're in the mood for trying everything else.
The prospect of the Big Match draws in a street urchin with a wonderful talent for kicking a tin can, a maker of jolly good pies, a dim but beautiful young woman who might just turn out to be the greatest fashion model there has ever been, and the mysterious Mr Nutt (and no one knows anything much about Mr Nutt, not even Mr Nutt, which worries him, too).
As the match approaches, four lives are entangled and changed for ever. Because the thing about football - the important thing about football - is that it is not just about football.
This Audible Original multicast dramatisation is directed by the multiaward-winning Dirk Maggs, best known for his adaptations of Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere for the BBC.

an amazing adaptation of a fantastic book. Jason fit the voice of the narrator perfectly and the cast hit it out of the park

Fantastic adaptation of the original
I enjoyed the original Unseen Academical’s when I read it as a book so as soon as Audible announced this I pre-ordered as I was anxiously here it as an audiobook.
I was quite surprised to find it wasn’t actually the original book but a dramatic adaptation of it. You could almost see ‘made for TV’ on it as you listened to it. A really enjoyable version and I hope Audible produce a few more Discworld books like this

Fantastic listen
If you want the full unabridged version there is one out there but this is a brilliant adaptation which is a pleasure to listen to.

Great Narration and story
My first Terry Pratchet book which I really enjoyed. Narration and characters were great. The story was Great as well.

Absolutely amazing!
I love everything Terry Pratchett! I have read all of his books and had wanted to listen to them all over again on Audible but when I listened to the samples I just couldn’t get into them.
But this! This is something special!
This is the best of a movie and a book combo! ... Do them all like this! Please!!!!

Superb
Love Terry Pratchett's book anyway but this audio book was superb. David Jason and all the cast are excellent. Enjoyed it so much so happy I found it.

Arrggh Dirk Maggs
I'm loyal to Terry so it gets a five from me.
I have to say though when I saw it was another Dirk Maggs I did groan aloud, why don't audible use anyone else? He pretty much always takes fabulous source material and turns it into a incomprehensible MESS. Spread your wings audible, give the good stuff to someone else for once.
Anyway, it's all good fun, he hasn't ruined it this time, obviously some changes from the book but that's understandable because it's not the book, it's a different format, no point getting upset about it, as many reviews seem to of done.
Anyway, if you love old Tel get it. It's good.
