Great story, heartbreaking as well, the main character seems to have Asperger's syndrome, he's married to a spontaneous, easy going woman who one day decides to leave him. I seldom cry when I read books but this one made me cry. I highly recommend it.

... but probably not my last. A sensitive, touching and at times very funny novel. Perfect narration too.

My first David Nicholls audiobook...

I did not want this wonderful book to end. A literal journey of wonder, wit and woe as David Nicholls seamlessly weaves together humour and pathos in a breathtaking and heart breaking story of the love that binds us.
Justin Salinger - genius narrator, perfectly capturing the voice of Douglas whilst harnessing the subtle rhythm and nuance of the author.

pleasant and very humane

Banal. Average narration of a less than average story. Sentimentality once removed. I struggled to enjoy the characters making me indifferent to their long drawn owt plight.

If you skip this, you are not missing anything.
