About this listen
As the quietest member of the Gray Ghost team, Hawk Ares risks life and limb on every mission, but when it comes to love, he plays it safe. At least until he overhears heated arguments from Red, his gorgeous neighbor, and his protective instincts ignite.
Hot-tempered waitress, Stella Klein, is mortified at her neighbor’s concern for her safety, and she blames the situation on her brother. With escalating stakes where money is key, her brother forces her to search for their family’s elusive treasure. She vows to stand by his side no matter what, even when his carelessness puts her in harm’s way.
A high-stakes game of cat and mouse ensues when loan sharks set their sights on Stella. Hawk does what he’s trained to do and keeps her safe - even from himself. As the danger escalates, dark secrets fight to be heard, and enemies new and old resurface and threaten to tear them apart.

Fast and exciting!
There are two things I have come to expect and appreciate in Amy McKinley's books. First, she unapologetically starts her book in the middle of action and it only escalates from there. I love that the story is fast-paced. The explanation for what is happening and why is delicately unravelled as then plot developed. Secondly her characters are multidimensional and complex making for an interesting story, which is about more than just action. On that note, while this book is standalone, there are issues and events that reflect back on issues and events that occur in previous books. I think it helped that I had heard the previous books prior to listening to this.
Hawk and Stella are thrown together because of shouting in Stella's apartment. Scratch that, Hawk throws himself into Stella's life because the shouting in her apartment alerts Hawk to something nefarious occurring in her life. Hawk will do anything to keep her safe except that they both seem to be in the cross hairs of some old and new enemies. All because of some mysterious treasure and the love of family.
I enjoyed this book. It was fast, quick and easy to listen to with a generous helping of chemistry to spice things up!

Love the series!
Vantage Point is a wonderfully written military romance and a fantastic addition to the Gray Ghost series. The storyline is super engaging, fast-paced, suspenseful, romantic, action-packed with just enough twists and turns. My attention was effortlessly captured. Amy McKinley is a talented author; her writing and character development are exceptional. Her characters are authentic with diverse personalities and reacted with realistic emotions to the situations they find themselves in. Hawk Ares, a sniper, the silent type, protective, patient, and reserved, especially when it comes to relationships with women. Stella is a confident and headstrong hot-headed redhead with her life in danger. Their connection is absolutely genuine, the chemistry is off-the-charts, and the flame of desire blazes with full fury. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.
Regan Brown does a fantastic job with the narration. Her timing and inflexions are excellent, particularly during the intense scenes. Furthermore, she portrays the characters' personalities and connections, bringing them to life. Overall, I love everything about this audiobook and highly recommend it!
